Google opens research and developement center in China

    Interesting move from Google.

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2005 Google Inc. (Nasdaq:GOOG), developer of the award-winning search engine, today announced that it will open a product research and development center in China, and has hired respected computer scientist and industry pioneer, Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, to lead the operation and serve as President of the company's growing Chinese operations.

    and hired Dr. Kai Fu Lee from Microsoft, but Microsoft filed a lawsuit agains Google now

    Since they can pay 10 times less to a Chinese guy than to an American it is a logical move... same case as why most web corporations outsource all their work to India
