    Hey guys,

I read some posts about indexation and people having trouble to get their sites to appear in the SERPs (search engine result pages) and decided to give some practice-oriented advice here.

If your site is not indexed within 48 hours, you are doing something wrong.

It's not a big deal not to know this, most people don't. When I started my first website years ago, I did not know either. It took me months until my site appeared on Google.

Just because SEO is a process that takes some time, does not mean indexation can't be done in a matter of hours.

I did some testing and the following method has proven to be very effective:

    1. Create a SiteMap & Submit to Google Webmaster Central
SiteMap Create: Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator
Google Webmaster Central: Google Webmaster Central. Get data about crawling, indexing and search traffic. Increase traffic to your site.

    2. Submit URL to Google
    Add your URL to Google

    3. Submit to Digg, StumbeUpon
Preferably submit your home page and some of the pages.

    4. Submit Your Site Here
(replace www.yourdomain.com with your domain & press enter)
    1- http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.yourdomain.com
    2- http://www.statbrain.com/www.yourdomain.com
    3- http://www.builtwith.com/?yourdomain.com
    4- http://snapshot.compete.com/yourdomain.com
    5- http://www.aboutus.org/yourdomain.com
    6- http://www.quantcast.com/yourdomain.com
    7- http://www.cubestat.com/www.yourdomain.com
    8- http://whois.tools4noobs.com/info/yourdomain.com
    9- http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/yourdomain.com
    10- http://www.alexa.com/data/details/?url=yourdomain.com
    11- http://www.siteadvisor.cn/sites/yourdomain.com/summary/
    12- http://whois.domaintools.com/yourdomain.com
    13- http://www.aboutdomain.org/backlinks/yourdomain.com/
    14- http://www.whoisya.com/yourdomain.com
    15- http://www.who.is/whois-com/yourdomain.com
    16- http://www.robtex.com/dns/yourdomain.com.html
    17- http://www.zimbio.com/search?q=yourdomain.com&btnG=Search
    18- http://whois.ws/whois-info/ip-address/yourdomain.com/
    19- http://whoisx.co.uk/yourdomain.com
    Code (markup):

    5. Ping Your Site
BulkPing: http://www.bulkping.comEnter the URL(s) here and submit. The tool will do the rest for you. Note that it will take some time to finish.

How Do You Know Your Site Is Indexed?

That's easy. All you have to do is go to Google and enter "site:yourdomain.com" (without the quotes)

If you see your site - congratulations!

Note that being indexed and ranking for a keyword are different things, it will usually take some time to rank well. Nevertheless, indexation is the first step and you have accomplished that!

I know this will helpful and I appreciate it if you like my contribution.

Happy to answer possible questions here or via PM,
    Tom

PS: I posted this in another forum and thought it would be very helpful for DP users as well!

Sure, I've tried this several times. You can also do this if the site is already indexed but to a very low degree.

I agreed with zachcrawley. Bookmarking and blog commenting is the easiest way to get indexed your website.

I also like your process on indexing your page. It is more detailed. Thanks for sharing

We got our blog post indexed within few minutes. It has no guarantee that if you do all the things you will get indexed by search engines. What matters is quality of content and branding of your website. The above steps are fine to index your homepage but does it index your all pages?

Indexing is the easy part, but you are right, creating a sitemap and pinging will help.

A XML sitemap tells Google about all the pages on your site.

Does google index your all URLs present in XML sitemap? Check in webmasters tools.

It's not guaranteed to index all your pages but it helps to have a sitemap, especially for larger sites.

The above method is for all sites, not just the homepage since you are submitting the sitemap to Google.

Also, you are building incoming links in the process. I have a list of 50+ additional sites to submit your site to. Let me know if you are interested and I'll post it here.
