    Hey Tyler,

As I posted on your blog, I'm not sure I understand why the h2 description would get someone delisted from Google. Can you explain the significance for us blogging noobs?

    Thanks,

The way that Typepad takes your blog description and stuffs it into the H2 div description is very spammy. It's a very old Black Hat SEO tactic that hasn't worked on Google for some time, however, they delist sites that employ this method.

It truly is a shame that SixApart hasn't fixed this as they have been aware of the potential issues with Google for some time.

TypePad has it setup so that the description does not display on the page.

Therefore, it's considered hidden text, which is not only ineffective (as bloggerpreneur mentioned) but also a violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines

Very informative post thanks for posting; great news for a client of mine who has a competitor with 2200 typepad blogs currently being used for backlinks.
