where can i find support on how to import the csv file into excel?

i have done it but excel puts all info from each row into the first column.

i then tried 'get external data' in MSaccess and it looks good but at the last minute get a "text file specification field seperator matches decimal seperator or text delimiter" message (i chose comma as the seperator).

i choose OK and get "an error occured trying to import whatever.txt. the file was not imported."

    thanks

You shouldn't need to do anything special. Maybe give the file a .csv file extension (if it doesn't have one already).

ya, this one bugged me...more because it was assumed eveyone knows how to do it.

Open excel..(just excel not by clicking the file) and go to "data"..."import external data"..."import data" ...search for the file and open.

There are a couple other wierd things it requests for but that will get you 99% of the way!
