First off, let this be known: I'm making this post anonymously with a proxy and new account because I don't want to get in trouble with anyone who gets angry at me posting this. So... I was talking with my AM at leadbolt about cpalead and he said something like, "ya they filed a lawsuit against us the other day. keep this between us.". I know I'm going against what the *unnamed* leadbolt affiliate manager said, but I think every leadbolt publisher should know about this... This is where the detective work began... I was generally curious about the reason behind the lawsuit, so i did some digging. There was nothing in justia about it, so i checked las vegas court docs (cpalead is out of las vegas), and nothing came up. Then I looked at the greater los angeles areas (where leadbolt is out of) court docs (spent lots of time on the phone) and found out it was true and being handled by los angeles supreme court. The only cases that involved cpalead were agains "marc carr" who is the owner of a network called "365 ad solutions", which after some digging, turns out is the company that created leadbolt. In summary, the court documents say: Leadbolt (365 ad solutions) provided offers to cpalead in january 2010, racked up tons of lead credit ($1,015,452), and never paid them despite countless attempts to get the cash. tl;dr; leadbolt owes cpalead over a million dollars, doesn't want to pay them, and hasnt notified us publishers of leadbolt potentially shutting down because they didnt pay a publisher (cpalead). One thing I ask is that you please don't shoot the messenger. I found something out and figured everyone would want to know. I apologize if I get the anonymous affiliate manager who slipped up in trouble. LOL thats pretty detailed info! But what are your sources? and also I have 2 questions: 1. Why would a LeadBolt AM speak about it with his pubs? and 2. can we see proof of these docs? (once again coming back to where you got your sources)
Thanks for sharing this news. It's good to know, but I don't think it will affect CPALead's publishers. CPALead needs to hold their promises and I'm sure after this courtesy they might get their money back (I see no reason why they shouldn't).
If this is true then we must move on and pack up and leave Why would they do that to cpalead, i hope cpalead doesn't do that to us publishers.. If anyone has accounts on both suffer from this. The amount should be cleared by leadbolt then we can see cpalead running smoothly and no hastle to their publishers.
