Ok, so Google won't let us use images next to ads... but what about IMAGE ADS next to TEXT ADS! I made an example that uses a text link unit, a 200x200 image ad and a 200x200 text ad... what do ya think? See image below...
Not as good as before (you cant select the image you specifically want). Might make a TINY difference.
Well thats another dirty trick. I still wouldn't risk doing it until others have done it But yeh thats an awesome idea. So tempting
We'll see...I'm going to start testing and I'll see how it works. The cool thing is the image ad isn't useless... if people click on it, you get cash where before you would get nothing. I'm guessing it is best to have the image to the right as the text ads would be first and potentially pay more per click...but who knows.
nice idea, toobad u dont control which images will appear, but it think this will increase the ctr a little bit at least it will grab the users attention. so they may click on the ads.
I don't know how it could be a dirty trick really... it is simply three google ad units. Gotta love them loopholes
I would like to email them, but am always terrified to do so... I do think this has got to be more likely to be ok than the usual image with ad thing
What I think Google should do is start another ad format - text with ads - similar to Blogads.com. Obviously they are very effective... so why not let the advertisers do this...they get to choose the image and the text. This would make everyone happy!
I think that it should be ok - Here is why: If they allow there " image ads " then technically using images to draw click violates there own TOS......doesn't it....... Since that is the whole idea of an image ad.....
I don't know about "brilliant", but it's doable. I've been doing it for a while now with a couple of sites.
images next to ads were banned because they can't be related to text ads. Now if you put an image ad next to text ad then you know that google will put something related to the pages for both units, hence these units are related and the image is not misleading.
