Ok, I more or less know something about Xoops and Mambo, I need to try another one though. The choice is Drupal, someone said it's fairly simple and basic. Unfortunately here comes the first problem: error reading header after 0 entries and that while trying to decompress the downloaded files with Winzip. It occurred with Mambo too, but I tried again later and it worked, no idea what was going on. Anyone with ideas? Thank you for any contribution!
Try using winrar from www.rarsoft.com. I have never had troubles with it, and when i used winzip, i would run into the problem you have every once and a while, winrar seems to fix all the problems.
Thanks envoy! Anyway, I'm on my way learning how to use it and I have to admit that so far I like it much better than Mambo and Xoops. I find it definetely easier to learn and I read quite a lot of good things about it that I still have to discover, so I'm excited at the prospect of having found what I was looking for. For the time being I recommend Drupal over Xoops and Mambo, but there are so many CMSs out there that you can never really know if the one you're using is the one that suits you best. Oh well, let's get on with it!
Drupal is the most straightforward cms I have ever seen. Its also realy clean, caches well and has very easy to edit templates with good support
Right, I'm coming across the first hurdles. Documentation is bad for learning cron tabs. I need to set up one to update the RSS feed installed, but I can't find a straightforward tutorial at all. I am actually getting more and more confusued.
