Im hoping one of you talented people at dp can come up with something eye popping.

I need a simplistic but charismatic character that can be implemented to support the logo which is also needed. It can be a literal character like hostgator.coms alligator or it can be more subtle and abstract, like apple corporations apple profile with a bite out of it, or think of you tubes red screen with the word YOU in it with the words "broadcast yourself" below orchestrating the subtle communication of freedom to be personal a tv station.

This is your chance to create something of true worth, that will be used as a corporate banner from scratch.

We need a color scheme and character and logo for the words,

    "hostmystar"

fit the slogan into the logo...

    "go supernova!"

We are looking to communicate stability but high end "geekiness" it needs to look "in" but timeless.

Anything that looks great is fine but we prefer "line art" (limited to 2 or 3 colors) style character and nice weighting of the typography, so there are three elements for you.

    1) invent the corporate 2 or 3 "color schema" the corporate color scheme that will be used throughout the website.
    2) create the logo for the type and incorporate the character and type together to give a harmonious form that "jells"
    3) invent and illustrate the character and marry with the logo.

    mythology of the company.

We host stars. We gather the finest websites and place them in the sky for all to see. Like neptune gathering stardust we blow and the stars appear. We ARe the internet and hosting anywhere else is a dustbowl.

I will look at submissions for the next 48 hours before deciding.

Hello Shiuli, I mentioned several examples in the op, but I don't really want a composite creation based on an existing logo. I would like an original work, that has integrity and good balance and color scheme. We are looking for an Iconic solution that is timeless but attractive. The character should be designed to be memorable and married to the word "hostmystar" Thanks.

Hi shiuli, yes we require the working files and also this job is paid on selling us the author copyright for the chosen logo meaning it cannot be resold or given to others. We are buying the full copyright rights to the work.

The character must "fit" the hostmystar theme, but it is up to you how you configure the character/logo/colors and slogan.

Hello shiuli, the shark is a nice looking design. Is it 100% original? I only ask because you came back so fast, from scratch that looks like at least 2 hours work. The shark body could be chunkier. The type weighting is not all there, the typography looks a little mismatched, (hostmystar compared to go supernova!) Also the choice of helvetica/arial for the main word hostmystar is bland and common. The typeface fails to communicate the "coolness" factor.

I like your color scheme, silver gradient combined with baby blue and deepblue. For an ocean theme site this would definitely be strong. For a hosting website the colors are not "bold" enough. But a very serviceable effort however we are looking for something a little more "punchy" and on target in terms of the theme of the site. As stated its serviceable but we are hoping someone would really put some thought into it and knock it out of the ball park.

    thanks

When I say coolness factor, think godaddys minimalist black and white smiling man with hair. Its instantly recognizable and you dont even need to see the word godaddy, you know its their logo. I am hoping someone can come up with a character that jells with the word hostmystar, it is what we have to work with. I think the idea of a star character is kind of cheesey, but if done well can look great. Minimalist is something we are definately interested in when it comes to the character.

    thanks

We are loving the mon-star character with the tie. Can you please refine that character by introducing highlights and shadows in the body, just detail it a little. Also make the tie more noticeable. The overall blue is too dark to distinguish its details. Add a belly "line" curving infront of the leg in the back. Thicker outlines would be nice to see giving it a more robust quality.

The typeface is sort of bold. A little "tron" like which is ok. We would like to see the slogan changed to "Get hungry Again!" for your particular design.

    thanks

I know some people have seen this mascot i made. Here is the link to the contest: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1908614

I forgot if i did sell this mascot to the contest holder of that thread, i checked my inbox and sent items but i haven't found any email from him and vice versa. I've Pm'ed him and asked if i did sell the mascot to him, if ever i did, i will remove it from this contest and create another one.

    Thanks!
