http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/google-search-and-search-engine-spam.html Looks like sites like ezinarticles, isnare and other article directories are about to become things of the past.
RIght, I read this today morning on webpro news. This year Google will work on low quality content sites.
i love Google, they are dynamic and keep on changing the method of businesses. Well as they make changes so are people making changes with them. With quality content you are always coverd.
Thats the point. They are cutting down on what they call "content farms". Thats what ezine is, a place where thousands of webmasters can go and grab the same low quality article and repost it on their blog. There are hundreds if not thousands of article directories out there that will accept junk articles, this change will affect them as well. I think these article directories are about to lose their authority, if they ever really had any.
Awesome, finally these crappy websites will be eliminated from search results. At least I know that my website is full of quality content, even if it is coming from me.
Interesting to see the outcomes. I reckon there will always be crummy content sites no matter what they do. I wonder if their going to consider doing similar things to sites that don't update or have regular content added to them.
I hear you on this, lets say you have a website about fireplaces, well your not going to adding much content anytime soon. it is what it is. But it could also work in your favour, if all the sites that rank for your keyword survive off junk content then you will succeed at the end of the day.
Does it mean that article directory sites should be more strict in approving articles submitted to them?
I see a bunch of junk sites showing up in the top ten now versus before. Is this what users want? Apparently Google thinks so.
I would hope so, sites like ezine would be an excellent resource if it wasn't for the high percentage of drivel.
I think most sites nowadays are junk sites. But still, abdating of the algorithm will hurt most people that are trying to make money.
It says they're still working on duplicate content, which is extremely difficult from an engineering standpoint. I actually think they do a really good job with it as it is. Word on the street is it has something to do with grammar checking. I don't know if this is true, but it would be a pretty good way to weed out content that's spun or written by foreigners.
