Where does visits come from ?

In your opinion, if a website has very much visits but has a Pagerank 0 ( so no visits from google or other sites linking it ), Where does visits come from ?

I have seen many sites ( most porn sites ) that has PR very low but very high traffic and I would to know why !

 

Referrals or links from other sites. Many webmasters trade links with other webmasters to generate site traffic.

 

Page rank is not related to visits. Page rank is a Google algorithm that is unrelated to how many visits you get. Alexa is supposed to be more linked directly to visits although I don't really trust Alexa. Vists come from either people going directly to your site that know it exists, links from other sites, ads, or search results (there are actually search engines other than Google).

 

Some generate it from forums such as DP.
Referal links on other websites.
Paid advertisements.
Banner adds.
Social media websites.
Email marketing.

And the list goes on.

 

There are many ways in which the promotion of the sites are going on. some niche are fast attractive to visitor across the globe as one mentioned here in this post. PR shows the importance of that specific page in view of how visitors like this or its contents. According to my point of view, high PR does not guarantee high traffic as well.

 

Well said, Traffic density and PR is really do not have any connections. The direct traffic flow is about 20 -30 % avg for website.

Page rank is also depends upon the backlinks. if you have good backlinks that your page rank will also be good. page rank is also depends upon the popularity of the the page and more important is the quality of the the contents. Haha...this website uses some kind of fake traffic generator script...but there is NO content on the website!

 

there is always the potential to be generating fake visit....even if as everyone said before...pr doesnt necessarly relates to traffic. However, if it has extremely high visit but no page rank...it can be something weird...

 

I know that PR is not related to traffic but PR 0 means: no google traffic and no traffic from another website ( without nofollow link ).
This means that the visits come from other places.

Usually visit came from social media like social networking sites and social bookmarking sites.

 

Probably they are linked from private forums. i have no doubt that such porn sites will have sources for traffic. In reality, they are not legal, in particular.
