Once again a fun and trusted logo contest with 3 winners!

I am giving out $65 in total this time (even more if I am very satisfied your work):

Best Logo/Banner ---> $50
2nd ---> $10
3rd ---> $5

The Logo Designer I had assigned for this task is about to get married and is lacking the time to finish up the logo/banner he had started before the end of september (I need it soon for the launch of the website).

Please read all my requirements !

The Logo and Banner will be for: WorldPedal.com (A new Bicycle Touring Community I am trying to launch soon, please disregard the messy look of the site and the content, I am working on getting all things fixed asap)

The Logo: I would like the words: world and pedal to be used as an image, maybe the chainring being the globe and then just a regular drawing of a crankarm with the pedal (check the first two logo sketches from my designer, they are going in the right direction but can be improved of course)

The whole Banner: The whole Banner should consist of the Logo with a beautiful scenery including different parts of the world and people from different nations, and it needs to have an adventurous touch to it and of course 1 or 2 touring bicycles with happy looking riders should be on the whole panorama as well as a tent...

Just thinking out loud to give you the multi-cultural picture I am having in mind: A Touring bike with rider (adventurous looking maybe with a bit worn out equipment) crossing a changing scenery of beautiful Nature, Eiffeltower, A dude in Leatherpants waving (German Guy), Mountains, Gizeh Pyramids, A nice lake with a tent, A chinese guy waving, Taj Mahal, A beach, Angkor Wat, Chinese Wall, A muslim guy waving, The Statue of Liberty, Animals, A Hindu guy Waving, The Kremlin, a Buddhist guy waving....

I guess you'll get the idea now but here is a sample to give you even a better picture:

http://www.biketouringtips.com - I really like the concept of this one but the banner itself looks not good at all and way too plain, I think it comes the closest to my idea of the banner though...

Color Preferences: I have no color preferances but since I will keep the color scheme which you are seeing right now on the site you will probably know what colors work best and it have to match the "web 2.0" look of the website of course the background color should be the same so it glides seemingly into the site...

The Dimension: I was thinking of 80-100px for the height and 650-700px for the length it all depends on what you think works best, but if you think more space would be better, I can do some testing and see what dimensions still work for the template... I really want a spacious feeling on the banner itself (you know the world is a big place not like here where all those things look pressed into the logo: http://www.cyclocamping.com/)

Oh and another note regarding dimensions: First I want the logo/banner to suit my website of course but I want to use the logo and probably the banner as well for print out in the future (magnet sign for the car for example and letterheads and t-shirts) once ready, so I need a bigger size as well (in the same quality, not pixely)

The Font in the 2nd try looks way way better then in the first but can be improved still

In the 2nd Try I am not happy with the www.worldpedal.com and the biker (the biker has no panniers which are so typical for a touring bike and it's too dark and small, it looks forced into the logo somehow and crowded)

I am thinking of splitting this contest into 2 contests (1 for the Logo and 1 for the whole Banner)...

I realize that for both elements there are different skills involved which is probably the reason for the low response so far?

Hmmm weird thats the first time I need to wait so long for submissions...
