I don't think it will make a difference one way or another. I haven't seen one instance yet where there are 3 results from a single domain. Can it happen? Apparently so. But so far, I see no effect.
No suprise here. Think about it is google going to let some newbie come in and rank higher then problogger for that term?
I am wondering how much time that certain website took before built up such an authority. This is an unfair advantage over competitor when your website has a huge authority from Google perspective. However, I do not think it was an easy task to get it anyway. It needs both time and link and content and even links from some big website such as CNN.com or some government website.
I have already seen the changes have taken place for brand names. See my blogpost Google now allows single brand domination in search engines
Yes, this has started happening. A search for certain keywords related to web directories yield three (3) links that belong to BOTW.
So, the "legal spammers" aka, the corporations and people with big wallets win again. So much for "power to the people!"
It is certainly a sad day for affiliates / price comparison websites. I do think it's a good idea but surely there should be a cap on how many results from one domain should be displayed. Some results are just mad - just search for 'sky' on Google UK - first 9 results is sky.com TV and the 10th result is the Wikipedia's definition of the atmosphere lol.
