YPN vs Adsense for arcades...opinions welcome please

I have a few high traffic arcades and am doing well running adsense and adengage on them.

I was considering getting a YPN account from someone (not free), but before I do I was wondering if anyone has compared the two on thier arcade and noticed a large % difference that would make it worthwhile?

Also...does YPN require you to manually geotarget your ads or do they filter on thier end now?

    Thanks in advance.

I am curious about this too.. Anyone who has used both YPN and Adsense can help us out on this question?

    Thanks.

    HUGE difference.

I was making a killing on arcade sites with YPN before I got banned for "poor quality traffic". With Adsense, the earnings are not even comparable.

After doing a bit of research with using Adsense/YPN - I have found that YPN continues to beat adsense out on my site. (We have an arcade on it, but that is not the entire site). I'm not sure I would pay money for an invite - because the chance of you getting banned for non quality traffic on an arcade site is pretty high. Yahoo really doesn't like "myspace" traffic or traffic outside of the US.

    Best of luck!

I have software running to geotarget and limit ad clicks to keep click fraud off my site. Hopefully that would take care of the problems. Guess I'll keep looking for a deal on an invite or current account.

    THanks!

If your site is an arcade or myspace site it's only a matter of time before
YPN determines that your traffic doesn't convert well it would seem.
Then they ban you for good reason. :)

your an idiot. They dont just ban you for having an arcade or myspace site, they ban you for posting bulletins/spamming to get traffic...

anyways, back to the point of the thread. I have one arcade site that has good RPC with YPN then I have another arcade site that has a piss poor RPC and they are both targeted to the same category. So in my opinion , it varies...

First of all, defintely GEO-TARGET when using YPN on an arcade.

Second, YPN (and I'm going from my clients who are running arcades) pays usually 10-15 times wat AdSense pays on a daily basis. However, as people have stated many times on this forum, it isn't that YPN frowns upon Arcade websites, however there are many arcade website owners that are getting emails saying their accounts are being terminated for poor-quality of conversions, etc. The best way to work past that is use YPN on a wide-array of websites. Yes, maybe your popular arcade isn't converting that well, however you might have a great website devoted to Cars or Sports that is ... which will even things out.

There are many arcade owners who have in the past made $x,xxx to $xx,xxx per month via YPN alone and others who can barely crack $100.00 a month.

I know that is some ramblings, but that is what I do best when posting on forums ... there has to be a point in there somewhere.

actually, i think you made a good point with the evening things out statement. i believe that most "arcade" accounts get terminated because people use category targetting to target higher paying (non game) ads and use images or other blending techniques to "trick" visitors into clicking an ad, which would result in poor conversions since the clicker wouldnt find what they thought they would and either close the browser or worse, click back and click another ad (the result being IP's that click multiple ads in a short period of time and purchase nothing).

What "Ad targeting" are people using with ypn for their arcades that has good profit and the most possible targeted ads for arcades?

    Computing / Internet ?

Electronics and Appliances / Consumer Electronics ?

YPN pays far, far more than Adsense on game sites but you MUST make sure you filter your traffic; US only. Some day YPN will take care of this for you, but if you forget about this now, you'll end up with the letter!

I have an arcade on one of my websites in my signature that makes 20% of the site's total revenue. The rest of the site uses Adsense.

    YPN definitley.
