Maybe this has been posted already, but Google has a good list of third-party Sitemaps tools here, for those of us who are not really techno: http://code.google.com/sm_thirdparty.html
No probs. I am using this one right now: http://www.tarrantit.com/GoogleSiteMap/default.aspx It is producing the best results for me of all the online tools I have tried from that Google list.
I just installed this here http://spamalertz.com/sitemap.xml Downloaded this tool from here supports more files, then the one you are using it! here is the link : http://enarion.net/google/
Thanks for the link. I am using the online one because I don't have a huge number of pages and I am not that techno.
I tried using the link which you gave! The site got stuck it could not generate sitemap "too man pages". The second one which I'm actually using it now generated all use less pages! and left out the most important pages ! Looks Like I have to try somthing different to get a good sitemap!
Thanks to all those that posted links. Those are some nice little tools for a noob like me. This will help out a great deal.
THANKS GUYS! I love the links. BTW Anyone know how to get google to recognize backlinks to my site? I have a few people linking directly to my site without me, not reciprical, they link to me I don't link back to these kind. Just don't know why google hasn't recognized it.
I'm also using http://enarion.net/google/ and like it for having the ability to exclude both folders and file types from indexing, then save the configuration in a 'settings' file. Works nicely.
I used this asp version to create my sitemaps. One site is database driven so I used the db version for that one. For the rest, I used the file scripting object version. With some work, I modified the files and they work like a charm. I hope this will get the sites spidered more deeply and more thoroughly.
Google doesn't show all backlinks. They only select certain ones to show, usually (but not always) ones with higher PR. There is nothing you can do to get google to recognize a link.
