Look what I found in my logfiles: the IP resolves to a china ip-block.. Why would yahoo be spidering from China? or am I just posting something you guys already knew 202.165.98.141 - - [12/Jun/2005:00:29:39 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 46962 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Yahoo! Slurp; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp)"
Because they can... The IP is definitely owned by Yahoo though, so it's not someone spoofing... http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl?searchtext=202.165.98.141
ok. I'll stop complaining about spiders from china: I just had my first ever yahoo!china ref-url: http://cn.websearch.yahoo.com/searc...+Belong+Together"+Richie+Valens&scch=on&ei=gb crazy enough, visitors address is 67.118.__.__ which is registered to Pac Bell Internet Services (USA!). So to get more US visitors, I have to be spidered by a chinese search engine, where Chinese-Americans (is that a word?) search for totally non Chinese stuff.. ok.. got it.. -- kill this thread please
