Hi guys, I actually have more information on the site in my signature but I wanted to share my step by step method of ranking in the search engines (by the way, the site in the sig is brand new and I am working on it so thanks). 1. Develop your site with content in mind. (try to avoid flash and java) 2. Choose keywords not by KEI but by checking out your competition and seeing if you can beat them. (you can beat anyone if you are willing to take enough time and money for it) 3. When building links start with directories. (ALWAYS ROTATE YOUR ANCHOR TEXT) 4. Submit articles with your link in them. 5. Comment on blogs 6. Make forum posts 7. Email or call other webmasters asking for links (you need to have an angle here) 8. Press release will get more links 9. Keep at it. This is a simple 9 step method to SEO. My site has about 20 steps.

what should we do if the competition is so high that you can't make your website on first page in 6 months??? should we keep working on the keyword?
Some keywords are so competitive that your website can't rank on those keywords on front page of Google in such a short time period. You should keep working on the keywords and after some time you will see the improvements
Concentrate on optimizing sub pages centered around that keyword using long tail keywords that can be dominated and have them all link to that page with that keyword.
