No, you need specify the "Default Text" like I did - it will be used in case that the ad char limits is over 25 for headline or 35 for description when the keyword replace the parameter. Also notice that I used the 'K' and 'W' in upercase, this will make replaced keyword phare in upercase too: is 'KeyWord', not 'Keyword' or 'KEYWORD' Another ad variation: {KeyWord:Architectural Renderings} Superior Quality 3D Animations and {KeyWord:Architectural Rendering}. Learn More www.Architectural-Renderings.mavdesigns.com New Jersey Notice: - Keyword on Display URL (it will be in bold if user searches for 'Architectural Renderings' ) - word 'and' connecting description line 1 and 2 - 'KeyWord" parameter used on headline and beginning of description line. Also I would search for a Professional template for your site - is a bit hard to navigate on it, a professional template will certainly improve the Conversion %
ok, thank you very much, i think i'm getting. what do you mean about the professional template? Oh mavdesigns is not my website, i just copy/pasted first thing i had open. my website is 3ddreams.com
lol, sorry Oh - Nice site, forgive me (keyword in Bold) it make your ad more atractive for clicks so it increase your CTR a little bit, use the more important keyword (more searched) keyword after the '/' if the customer search for "Architectural Renderings" in Google and your add is triggered, the display URL will show something like that: www.MavDesigns.com/Architectural-Renderings (Keyword will be in Bold) and will call more attention for the user to click that ad. * remember to add the keyword only to display URL, do not add it to destination URL
oh, thats right, i already had my webhost setup so it will work in the actuall URL, since my website is all one pge flash. got it. today was a slow day, will work on this tomorrow. Once again, thanks so much.
another thing i missed here. can i use the {keyword} code in the Display URL? or just manually put it the best keyword there?
No, is not possible for Display URL. for Display URL is recommended that you create different ad Groups - also you will create different ad text for that keywords as well - this gives you more targeted traffic and a better CTR. you can use it for destination url if you want to track keywords using some kind of code on your site - in this case you do not use the default text - just use the {keyword} in lowercase example: http://www.3ddreams.com/index.php?value={keyword} if the keyword searched is "Architectural Renderings", the destination url will be: http://www.3ddreams.com/index.php?value=architectural+renderings But this is not possible for Display URL, you need to enter each text for each Ad you create - so you would need to create a separate ad group and put only keywords similar to "Architectural Renderings" there and create a specific ad with the display URL for it - This looks bad but is a nice method that I recommend you to do if you want to get traffic paying less - create several adgroups, separating keywords and making ads specific for them.
Remember {keyword} is replaced by the keyword that is matched, and NOT by the search phrase typed in by the user. e.g. with phrase matching on: architectural renderings If a searcher searches for the term: New York architectural renderings Then the destination url will be: http://www.3ddreams.com/index.php?value=architectural+renderings Code (markup): and NOT http://www.3ddreams.com/index.php?value=New+York+architectural+renderings Code (markup): H (just to clear up an often misunderstood part of dynamic keyword insertion) (oh, and have you *tried* it in the display URL? )
This thread seems to have gone slightly off-topic but I've found that the location is added to AdWords ads for websites who have Google Maps listings.
ok, i figured out how to set up a regional targeted ad. but here is my dilemma: the product that i'm selling is actually a service, so technically i want to sell it in all of the US states, but adding a state name to the bottom of the ad i think will help to get more clicks/clients. I know some of my competitors do the same thing, they run the same ad for different states to capture that traffic. So the only way i see it for me to be possible is setting up a different ad group for each state that I want to run the ad on, but i already have 6 ad groups running with different categories of keywords that are basically already related. so if i add another category to brake them up even more, i'm worried about maintaining them, because having 6 different ad groups is already a slight pain the butt. Am i organizing them wrong or how should i pull this off?
If you have a Google Maps listing for the website you are advertising, your ad should display the location for local searches.
