Anyone else notice that if you search for something in Google, the AdWords ads that are displayed have an extra line for some of the ads, that shows the city/state the company is in if it's the same as where you are located? Pretty slick... Also seeing some display just the state (and no city).
Yea, this has been going on for quite awhile. Real Estate was where I noticed it first. Still trying to figure out how to work it to my advantage
I thought ARIN set IP country based. And now it is city based already? I would say at most state wide.
ARIN has always displayed who the registered IP is (down to the address). But Google is going beyond just ARIN data. They are more accurate than just ARIN data (they can tell if you are in San Diego even if the IP is registered to Nevada for example). I think it's done with a combination of a bunch of things (ARIN data, trace routing, etc.)
I don't think they show them anymore. Then again, this is about 4 years ago..lol Thanks for the info tho!
