Ive only used adsense on my forums in the past. (note that I posted an adsense rotation thing here, It was not on a working account and not related to this ban). Well I was with the program since september of last year. I dont have a big site. In fact I never received any payment whatsoever. Google terminated my account. I had around 30 dolllars in it. Like I said, I was small time. No reason as to why my account was closed. Perhaps a jump in revenue? I think jumps in any amount set off alarms. It would be nice if they mentioned why you were kicked out. I believe its all automated. Never did any illegal activity. Website content was about musicians. So who else has been kicked out?
I dont know any of them getting kicked by G for doing nothing, there must be some reason! and you know it! or you dont remember . I have seen people getting kicked out of adsense program and say I havent done anything wrong and still got kicked by G, maybe you think it that way, but you might have breached G TOS? Atleast thats what G would have thought [learnt about it] about this before terminating your account! I guess its not completly automated! I'm not sure? You can still signup with other Sites like fastclick, shaadi.com, there are plenty! Best of luck!
im not in it for money. my pages are all basically in fun. like i said i was small time. not sure why all of a sudden after so long i would be terminated. perhaps some break in the rules. im not sure. the email is about invalid clicks but still it should mention what happened. you would think that if they thought you were clicking your own ads they would provide a little example with your ip or something. oh well something happened. its not the end of the world. my pages were aimed a specific area and the people coming to the site were basically all from the same isp. I dont think this would cause it, but im not sure. Also i stopped using adsense for a period, and then brought it back into my forums. perhaps the drastic spike set off some alarms.
Well it won't cause you any problems then, will it? Surely Google sent you an email to say what you did wrong. And if not, email them and ask them. They might even reply!
Not true, many of us have jumps all the time and it doesn't get us automatically banned Its not about being illegal but I am guessing you mean you never violated their TOS. I would be willing to bet you did. In every single case posted here, when it came down to it the poster admitted they violated the TOS. They usually explain it away saying they meant to do this or that. I'm sure there has been someone unfairly kicked out but I have yet to meet them.
Everyone, and anytime, without explaination - can be terminated from the program. Though, G would not do it now, but it depends on "in Who's hand it is" in the future. And what does that mean? Well, everyone falls short of being the right way, like the scriptures (bible) says.
Much like the Bible, Google also requires confession of the sin and full repentance before forgivness can be granted. Translation: If you accidently click your own ad, email them and tell them about it. If you are clicking your own ads on purpose - you will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
maybe accidentaly broke the terms....could it be that u had someone with the same IP clicking the same ad repetetively to get you chucked out?
That scenario seems like a longshot... Though I did hear about one web master who offered proxy surfing through his site - and suffered the consequence when his ads got clicked by people using his proxy.
on the other hand jlerner......one can go to an internet cafe and click his own ads everyday????? I suspect that too many same IP clicks are enough to get google suspicious!
Wasn't there someone here that set the homepages for all the computers in his university computer lab to his site that got dropped because of it? It looked like fraud to Google because (I'm assuming) the lab machines were a significant percentage of overall traffic from the same IP (range).
You are correct. From what I have read (correct me if I'm wrong, DP) Google only counts 1 click per IP. Excessive clicking from a single IP might result in zero revenue for those clicks - but would not result in disqualification from the program. If you could get someone thrown out of Adsense by fraudulent clicking, there would be no way to stop people from tanking their competition.
The number one factor is if you click your ads while having an adsense cookie on your computer. That im sure sets off allarms. But also they may look at conversions as well and CTR. Most fraudsters are too dumb to remove their cookies so they get weeded out quickly.
