SEO'd Word Cloud Site For Sale (PR3)

Hi im just gathering some information at the moment.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing the site www.500wordsite.com?

It is a word cloud website that has been search engine optimized for quick placements. It is crawled regularly by googlebot (every 1-2 days) and received a PR3 after only 4 months of starting out and has a PR2 blog (the blog auto updates with the latest SEO news/info).

Basically the website offers keyword rich text links to other websites for a fee. This is a turnkey website and can be run without much effort.

We have also struck a deal with a major webhost to offer free hosting to our script customers on their own virtual dedicated server, these plans are normally quite expensive so is a good selling point.

The potential sale would include the full working site (all files, scripts, everything) and the domain that would be transferred over to you.

I have been offered low xxx.

I sold 6 last month with nearly no advertising ($220).
Average between 3-6 month without much promotion.

Sold about 25 in total.

Link purchases have also increased with our PR.

 

Is it legal to sell this script? I found the original open source version which is free. I'm not trying to be smart, I'm just trying to understand how you can say the buyer of your site has sole right to the script, when it looks 100% the same as the free open source version....

Hi stuart, im not sure as to which "original open source" version you are referring to but this script was 100% coded by myself after I saw the boom in text links. Our script is different as it has been built utilising SEO techniques with minimal code.

So to answer your question, yes it is legal to sell my script and the owner will have sole rights to use it how they wish.

 

I'll bid $100 - you didn't indicate the exact dollar figure of the bid you received so I am starting here for now.

To answer your question; our affiliation with the hosting company has no end date decided yet but I presume they will let the site keep on offering the hosting for at least a minimum of one more year, I will contact them to confirm this and to ask when the end date will be.

 

Though I would post some paypal stats:

This month we did a fair bit of advertising.
Total paypal for month: $615


No advertising.
Total paypal for month: $135


Hardly any advertising.

I found a website which looks 100% exactly like you one, and offers the script for free. It may not have the payment options available, but is without a doubt the exact same script.

So did this other site buy the script from you an release it as open source? seems a little odd to pay for a script then give it way.

As I have said I coded the script 100% myself and if you look at the source code you will see it is different in many ways, it is not the same script! For a start that free script you posted does not seem to have been optimized for search engines in any way, it just does the same basic feature of placing words on a page.

Just to add, if someone buys the site and finds the script to be the same one that you posted I will refund their money. Hopefully that has answered your question.

 

I have just spoken to jumpline and they have confirmed that there is no time limit on this offer. So you can run the promotion as long as you like as they have no intentions of revoking it.
