I've noticed an update of links on google.com and co.uk

    Anyone else noticed this?

    Darren :)

yeah, I've noticed that backlinks are updated on some datacenters.

weird stuff though: my backlinks went from 350 to 2,500+ but my PR and position in the serps have remained consistant.

I have just updated the Datacenter Quick Check tool so you can check the backlinks and PR, for any given page, across all of the datacenters simultaneously.

If you try it and find any problems, please let me know.

Disgust, I don't think the PR's will be updated until the BL's have passed through all of the data centers.

    Nice tool McDar!

Appears the BL's are going through all of the DC's, not change in PR so far though - so it's either I'm stopping at PR6 or it's not updating the DC's with PR yet.

    Darren :)

Same here... tons of new back links (1,000+ new ones to www.digitalpoint.com), but not difference in PageRank on any page/site I check.

Shawn, I took deep hits on BLs with no PR advance. It always starts this way for me then the BL advance and the new PRs are displayed. Takes a day or two.

Well, so far, every page I have checked has dropped backlinks

So, the good news for me in the PR column would be No-Change at this point.

I have not noticed ANY changes in PR for any pages I have checked.

This sure is a strange one.

it definitely seems like SOMETHING was changed in how they decide to include or exclude a page from showing in the link: command.

a lot of people are getting hundreds or thousands of links out of nowhere, it sounds like.

Disgust, yes - I've been doing some "digging" and a lot of the new links I have are under PR4 and are forum signature links. I've increased by over 220 backlinks this update.

well, what I meant was, these are usually links that have been up for a long, long time- but now all of the sudden, they're showing up in a link: search.

I've got tons of PR2 pages and things showing. quite weird.

It appears Google have changed what we see in link: but also you might have seen a thread I started in this forum about the change in allinurl:

Google has been tinkering around with its bits again

My backlinks dropped, the ones I checked are all 4+ and below; darnit. None of the new ones I've added over the last 3 months. No change in pr.

One of my sites use to have 116 IBL, now there are only 51 IBLs showing. The ones removed were mostly from same domains.

    PR remained the same, though.
