Are you a Wrestling Fan? A Kick Ass graphics designer? Well you don't have to be a wrestling fan to participate in this contest, although it would help if you were familiar with it.

About Wrestling Clique: We are the premier wrestling forum and your source for wrestling news and rumors, wrestling divas, wrestling gifs, sports discussion, e-feds, writing and more. Wrestling fans participate in active discussion on all the major wrestling leagues and events including WWE, ECW & TNA pay per view events, live wrestling streams, wrestling video games, collectibles, etc.

What kind of logo are we looking for? We are going to leave that up to your creativity.

What is expected? We will require the logo to be in a format which is suitable for printing, embroidery, and / or screenprinting. It should be high quality and scalable without loosing detail (Scaling up or down). The logo for use on the site should be scalable to fit in a space of the header no wider than 400px and no taller (height) than 175px. Ideally it will be rectangular, not square.

Color scheme should match the existing site (Black, White (Silver), Orange, Grey)

If you are familiar with the various wrestling brands, see these logos for inspriation (NOT DUPLICATION) we want to be unique.

My partner and I will provide feedback on designs submitted. This contest will run until we find a submission that is acceptable. Payment is via Paypal only (Sorry, no other alternative methods will be available)

The person who's logo we select as the winner will recieve a guaranteed amount of $100.00. If the design happens to be above and beyond our expectations (Won't lie, we're hard to impress), the will be an additional tip.

Last but not least. As I mentioned, we are not easily impressed. This is one of the final few aspects of our site which we've found dificulty finding the "talent" to produce a knockout logo. Don't let this discourage you as we will work to guide you in the direction we need the design to go. If we do not select your design, or unintentionally provide negative feedback, please don't take it personally. There will be some submissions that just are not up to par.

I think you would be best to stay away from mascots. Perhaps to clarify some things we don't want:

We are not a wrestling club. The forum is related to professional wrestling. If you were to come up with a mascot, it would have to be something very unique. I came across this apparel site that had some interesting designs http://www.chromaapparel.com/products.cfm?sportselect=10. Again, don't want to copy but if you can use the resources I've pointed to for some getting started inspiration... that would be fine.

I see Danny Diamond looking at the thread so you might get duplicate info, but here's my 2 cents.

L3fty, my first impression of your design is it's pretty generic and very similar to many logos already out there in the wrestling world. We are looking for a more intricate design with some graphic elements around it and in the background. I'm not sure how I'd classify the style I'm thinking of other than something with tribal elements in the background or something along the style of Ed Hardy ... more attitude.

Evo-D, pretty much the same advice. Both entries are sharp and clean graphically but just too simplified. Also, please consider the site is fluid in design and a logo that is more square than rectangular is going to leave a lot of blank area. We will continue to run a banner in the right of the header but it is only 468px wide (of 1024min total area).

I would also suggest staying away from Barbed Wire or Chain Link elements as they don't really pertain to wrestling (More of something you would see in MMA logos due to them fighting in octagons of chain link).

EVO, thanks for the submission, but you are not following my feedback. I'm not sure what else I can add to make it easier to understand that we don't want a simple text type logo with some text effects. I'm not knocking your submission, just trying to clarify that that's not what we are looking for.

Some other considerations would be utilizing the W and C to create a logo with Wrestling Clique text somewhere below or in it. Also you may or may not want to incorporate "Wrestling Forum" into the logo. Depends how busy it starts to get.

Chewysmom and EVO.... Sometimes less is more when it comes to words, and all I can say is I'm not sure you have the skillset to create what we are looking for. I'm not even sure you have read further than my first post to see the examples I've pointed to, in particular:

napenzki, the logo you submitted looks as though it was made from Logo Creator Software. Again, it's just not what we are looking for and there's nothing left that I can offer to advance your design to where it needs to be.
