Not to make this long and drawn out I'm going to make this very simple. A lot of us come here looking for answers right? I know I do daily to avoid spending all day looking for something or a process I need to know. The problem with this is we are only looking out for ourselves. This means we are getting the answers we're looking for and move on to see the results. During this process we are not thinking about the help we did receive and giving that person a rep for helping us out. Where would this help us out you say? This will help us to actually target more helpful answers across the board, increase the percentage of successful solutions and build a trust amongst each other. Now, we should not be giving reps to non helper or just because, because it does pose a problem in accuracy, solutions and time management. All i'm really saying is consider giving that person a rep that helped you out. He truly deserves it i'm sure. If your confused or on the edge of giving a rep. Consider what it would have taken to get the answers and the help it did provide in your favor. If it really helped you from spending a whole day looking. Then reps are deserved. Please start giving reps to those who help you out!!! Thanks, This is just and idea to keep us all in line, generating go to users that offer all the best help. Something we have stopped doing, we need to start again.
That is correct! It is engineered in a way to make you go out of the way to make it happen. Avoiding frequent reps which may be unnecessary and pointless. If you have someone that needs a rep, make sure your going out of your way to make it happen. It will make everything better for all of us in the end. Make the effort as they person that helped you is all it amounts to.
True. I admit it took me a few mins to find out where it was initially. I even thought they removed it, and then I saw that tiny star at the bottom left corner..
To be honest, I have never used the rep button in this forum In other forums I have used it but on DP it is barely visible like tigerpublishing said. It seems only users with a post count over 1000 or 2000 have actually any green one... weird thing...
Yes coz they do contribute a lot for the forummer. If you want also can,by posting constructive post to help forummer.
