hey i owe a website - http://www.bhajjiworld.com/
till yesterday i had only 9 links but today while checking in yahoo explorer and backlink watch , i found that the baclinks are raised to 900 in yahoo but 300 in back link watck.All the baclinks are being generated from single blog only.I am not able to make out what to do now and how it has happen.
Seconbdly my wesite is a flash one so any advice for its promotion is welcomed as in flash websites there are no KW's.

 

Open google.com and enter the following in search

link:website URL

It will show you the complete list of backlinks to your website

 

Yahoo displays all the backlinks while Google displays only the links that are valuable in gaining PR. If you want to see all the backlinks indexed in Google, you'll have to go in Google Webmasters.

 

I think you don't know how to check back link and site link.
check in google link:www.yoursitename.com you have only 1backlink not 300.
i think you do marketing your website to different way pls do not make spam also you wast your and our time

 

If you've got loads of backlinks from one blog, it's probably because a comment or a link is included on the template. It'll probably be temporary as newer comments and links will knock it off, and is common and nothing to worry about.

This is completely wrong. Google doesn't show backlinks publicly, it shows a very small sample - you need to be registered with Google WebMaster tools to see your backlinks in Google.

I will tell you the simple reason. There are many blog owners who has a widget of showing recent comments in the side bar. This side bar is followed in all their pages and this is why you are getting links from all those pages and this is why Yahoo site explorer and other backlinks tools are showing you so many links.

Its not a problem anyhow.

 

Magda is correct, Google purposefully only shows a small random selection of backlinks. The easiest ways to gather backlink data are 1. Yahoo site explorer (link:domain.com) in Yahoo, 2. Google webmaster tools, although this requires you verifiying your website and having an account 3. SEOmoz has a new opensite explorer tool which is free to use but does require an account to use. Personally I would choose Yahoo for speed and ease of use.

Hey Dude, Thnx for your useless and worthy answer.
I know very well how to check the baclinks.Getting to the point it was clearly mentioned that i was talking about yahoo backlinks and not about google ,u could have make it out so if u wud have answered it by reading rather arguing.
As well as my sites marketing is concerned i cant do any marketing in a single thread, i know many channels besides this thread.I simply had a query to discuss with u all so i did so.

Do you know what the thread owner is talking about? He is asking why is seeing the increase in number of links and people here, including you, are talking about ways to check links. He has searched them from different ways and getting same results.
