Free Webhosting, What to consider?

    Hello

I have been looking online at various Free web-hosts and this seems to be a popular demand now especially for those needing some temp hosting. I now understand that they make their money via Forced Adverts on your websites you create with them etc which I believe if its free thats completely fair.

I've found one of the many Automated Free Hosting setup panels (iPanel) to use and looking to get a VPS/Dedicated Server to handle the (hopefully) many customers I may get. For now its purely a Free service I want to offer but could always enable the Premium hosting feature at a later date.

Does anyone have any suggestions for setting up a Free hosting service? I generally know most of whats needed and what some people could try using it for such as Torrent hosting ect but anything that should be considered?

Alot of what I need is covered by iPanel too.

    Thanks

I have a website hosted by both these hosts haha thanks for the links anyway. I agree most are bringing in the people to aim at their Premium hosting but for example 000webhost doesnt require you to use a sub-domain so unless you checkout the nameservers people are using when hosted with them theres not much way of knowing that they are using 000webhost which I dont get how that helps them :/

The smarter people can traceroute the domain and it should point to a 000webhost server.

If you are going to be hosting free people, one thing you should consider is that many people will be using nulled scripts. Some of the more popular hosts have scripts that check the code for the all common "Nulled by XXXXXX" (the XXX being the people who nulled it). Another thing you should consider is that many will also be using old scripts, which have vulnerabilities.

If you don't have lots of time to manage the above issues, as well as many others, i'd say it isn't worth the time.

Yep I completely agree with you Jamson there are bound to be those that want to host nulled scripts etc. I will ofcourse state this is not allowed in TOS (even though they wont care) however this will hopefully make me able to take action on these people if caught so they think twice.

Im going to try get some security in place for my hosting without limiting down anyone too much anymore but ill give it a go at free hosting anyway and hopefully I wont have too many problems.

I still welcome anyone elses suggestions ect.

    Regards
