I was very impressed by Honey's recent project. So impressed in fact that I licensed the script and began work on Alive Keywords.

This is a new direction from common web directories. Here are some of the main differences:


No more than 400 listings will ever be on the site. That is, once they are taken, no more submissions will be possible.

Each keyword can only be purchased once. When you have purchased it, the keyword is yours, and not available to anyone else. This makes it very important to secure your desired phrase while it is still available.

Listing enhancements are available, including enlarged sizes and colors.


As with all my projects, the site will be promoted and develop to offer very strong backlinks.

Just curious...does having 400 links on a single page dilute the page rank, as opposed to say 25-30 links? Also, I was under the impression that keeping a page under 100 links was a good practice.

 

There are varying opinions on this. Most people believe that there are two main factors as far as passing PR: the number of listings per page and the PR of that page. Since the listings will be linked directly from the homepage, they will be on the highest PR page of the site (whereas with most directories, you are usually two or three levels deep). So, when the site becomes PR7, a link there will be better than a link on a subcategory page two-three levels deep with, for example, 20 listings on the typical directory. Keep in mind that the listings are permanent, one-time fees also. The site is being focused for both traffic and link-value. That is, submitters will get direct traffic in addition to the link value. It will be linked from a number of high-traffic web sites.

Seems all keywords for Directories have been taken out anyways i have purchased one, and also sent you PM with my suggested keyword, hope you will add it soon.

 

It has already been created... Looks like these are still available:

...and some others niche specific, such as article directory, gambling directory, blog directory, etc.
