Hi, guys! It's interesting that, here, we find people earning some cents per day, while others earn some hundreds of dollars! I started to blog and use adsense to "try to make money" in the last year and, in begining of the current year, I started to earn $1 or $2 per day. I was happy. In last month, I started to earn $8 ~ $10 in working days and it's very good. Now, during December, January and February, my earnings might be reduced, because I write about money, health and other things - and no one reads about it now. Well, but I'm writing here in order to explain to other starter bloggers how they can earn some money blogging. I know, you can find these tips in other places, but, if you already know it... What the hell, why aren't you earning money yet??? It's really simple... Simple, but it requires time and discipline! You should choose following steps: 1. Choose a good niche (with interesting keywords, with good prices and audience) that you LOVE talking about - If you choose a niche only because other people you'll earn so much money, but you don't like what you write, you won't get so much; 2. Have two or three blogs - you'll can test which niche or keyword is better, and you won't write about one only subject; 3. You need have great content. Some guys create only 10 or 20 articles and wanna make money with it. Write, at least, 50 or 75 articles. My main blogs have almost 200 articles, each one; 4. Have patience - one of my friends didn't get enough money in adsense. I asked him to write one quest post to my blog, in order to help you to get backlink... And that post got a good money in my blog . So I only can think my friend should concentrate himself more, to write more great content and MARKET IT; 5. Web marketing - writing isn't enough. You need get good backlinks, create a good reputation (so, readers will go back and spread mouth about your blogs) and explore new web marketing ways... 6. Test new options - new adsense layouts, new keywords, new article sizes, new marketing methods, etc. I'm doing some tests - actually, I lose money doing some tests, but they are important to find out how to improve everything; 7. Love it! Many people wanna make money, but don't like try, think, create... Accept this challenge: to get more and more, every day. In the begining, I earned nothing per day (during some monthes), later, I earned cents, $1, $2... now, I expect to make $15 per day until middle of next year (please, pray for me! ). So, our point is: you need love it, this challenge, otherwise, you won't get to think how to be better day after day! 8. Read! I read several blogs about my niches and about make money blogging. Reading is very important, but, take careful: you can start to spend more time reading than writing and marketing, that is, making money. And it isn't good... 9. Ignore "Internet gurus" trying to sell you "the best auto pilot tools". If they were so good, they wouldn't selling it, but using it to make money by theirselves. Of course, some tools are great and interesting, you need avoid waste time reading bulshit, ok? 10. Start now and think for long-term! I believe I will be blogging in next 5 or 10 years yet! I love it and it's more interesting because I can earn some money with it. Of course, it isn't my primary income, but it's a good money. I hope you like these "10 Christiano's rules". As I said, you can find something about it in other places, but I believe it's more interesting when someone put everything in one place and talk about his experience. Well, that's all for now.
Tx for your words, friends! About domain, it's important too, of course! On-page and off-page SEO techniques are very important! I don't have so many domains (for while ). I have 5 or 7 domains, and I created some subdomains. If you can't buy enough domains for each blog, you should buy a good and short domain name and create subdomains to each domain. At this moment, I'm using only my domains and subdomains. I have some blogspots, but I deactivated them and migrated to my domains. Other thing: if you can buy a GOOD domain name, do it just now - good available domain names are rare, now! And avoid big names with more than two or three hifens: Google can think you're a spammer. If you wanna know how to improve your SEO, you should use basic techiques (you can find about them in several places, including here!) and, after, watch Google presentations and articles. If your blog becomes Google happier, it'll become you happier ( $$$ ) too! And remember: if possible, look for domain names with your keyword. And initially, concentrate theirselves in keywords "easily rankeable", with three words, or less competitive. When you dominate them, start to try other keywords! And always, always, always... err... have I already said "always"? Well, always, use Google tools (Adsense, Analytics, Search Keyword Tool, Webmaster Tools) to check your blog and find: * New good niche keywords to work; * New subjects to write; * What pages are most visited or earn more money - you should improve those pages always! I do it and I have earned some money - since March, 2007, when I started, I received 3 payments (all of them received this year, that is, one year writing without payments!), summing more than USD 1000.00. In next March, my birthday month, I hope to reach other USD 1500.00. A little difficult, but... Can't I dream?
my story similar to ovolarno, except point no:2, i have only one blog(blogspot), i use the rules he describes except no 2, because i spent lots of time to optimize only one blog. the result also fantastic, for October i got only 1000-2000 p/vies per day, November 2000-3000 per day and this December 5000-6000k, how many post do i have = 600++. target is 10000 p/view per day. I notice original/rare article drive more traffic. few days back i remember make a post, and after 1 minute i publish it and i search on the net, already rank 1 for the topics and google also put "1 minute ago" on the search result. my niche are not high paying keyword, but the title/topics rare and almost no competition from other web. i got few revenue for click sometime 10 click for 9 cents. but i love waht ovolarno said, "if your blog become google happier" you revenue will be happier. - thats right, because the revenue keep increase more then $10++ per day. i would like to add: 1. write a new content everyday at least 2. 2. use feed (feedburner). thanks ovolarno for the tips, and your story reminds me few years back ago, where i earn few cents per month=)
Tx for all, including you, kyoajis. As you can realize it isn't impossible, but you need be working, always. As pro blogger, you aren't only a writer - you're a SEO white hat, marketeer, etc. too! I'll have some days as vacation this year (I'm freelancer, so it's rare! ) and I'll take some time to crawl this forum and other places and try to group most important SEO techniques.
Good for you Olo, some good tips here : )) but the most important is perseverance & discipline ! It is never easy when you just start, no one to teach you, and many give up way too fast -- even 6mths to 1 yr is considered a short time! so persevere ! It is hard to consistently do good work - write quality articles, link build, make new niche sites .. too often the mind wanders around -- especially so when you come to FORUMS! hah. Stay discipline and you will be rewarded for hardwork!
Heres another tip for adsense on blogs, make sure you target your ads by using <!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –> and <!– google_ad_section_end –> in your sidebars footers etc to stop Google showing irrelevant ads also <!– google_ad_section_start –> and <!– google_ad_section_end –> in your content area of your posts this will put relevant adverts in your blog
Hmmm... I knew it, but I never used! Tx for remembering me! I'm going out now, but when I'm back, I'll do it ASAP! Tx! And thanks for all of your good words, guys! Let's continue our great work and we'll have, always, excellent news! $$
I'm here now, guys! I'd like to give two new tips: 1. If you are starting, you must read ProBlogger (book + blog). It brings so great information, you'll love it and learn quickly. If you blog since one or two years ago but your earnings are lesser than USD 10.00 per day, so you should read this book too. I'm reading it and I like it - it brings several "oh, I knew it!" tips, but it has great advices too! 2. If you don't know how to identify a niche, that's simple: a) Start choosing an area you like (health, finances, business, vehicles, internet, entertainment, etc.); b) After, check several blogs talking about that subject. You'll realize that each blog decide to talk about a specific group of subjects. In health, for example, some blogs talk only about nutrition and food, others about weight loss, etc. In business, for example, there are several blogs talking about make money. Each one of groups is one potential niche. However, you don't know what niches pay well or have good audience, correct? c) To know if one niche pays very well, you need check if main keywords (use Google's Search Keyword Tool) has good prices. If they have good prices and there is good audience (use same tool), that's nice, otherwise, check some similar niche, but with other keywords; d) Even if you choose a good niche and great keywords, it doesn't mean you'll get so much money - it'll depend on your blog and your competitors. In order to get great money, you need get great positions in Google Search. So, look for niches with less competitors; I think it'll help you, saroj123, to find a good niche. If you have some doubt, write here and I'll try to help you, ok?
