    Hi there...
    I'm a bit confused why Google only returns 4 pages of my site bothwith and without WWW.

    This is strange as my site has been up for almost a year now and it has thousands of pages of content (including a vBulletin message board with thousands of threads + posts etc). I have 2 sitemaps submitted to Google - the first contains all the threads/posts/forums/users from my forums and can be found here (warning: large file, could possibly crash your browser) and the second sitemap lists the contents of my forums archive (static html pages) and is located here.

    Any reason why I am listed so few times? I know that I don't have THAT many backlinks (because I can't afford to pay to have my site listed in directories, and everyone who offers affiliating never links back to me).

    Get a few links in free directories at least and perhaps do a few relevant link exchanges.

    Also - back links don't affect your number of indexed pages do they? and surely not this much :confused:

    there are alot of free directories where you can submit yer site. or have someone do it for you and within weeks your indexed sites should go up.

    very common issue for forums, make sure that all the categories are filled with posts - otherwise it will count it as supplemental results.

    Try putting a unique meta tag description for each of the pages.

    Guyz i want to ask you one thing. . i am running a blog and i dnt know why it is not getting indexed by google...
    Moreover i submitted to the very good directories, still i am not ...
    And i want to mention here that my blog is 2 months old..

    Domain name you choose might have been banned from google before. go to google.com/webmasters/sitemap and sign up and post reinclusion request.

    Actually backlinks do affect the number of pages that are indexed. Get more links on the main page and also inner pages.
