Just bought it on eBay to replace the one I had as a kid.
It even has the 16K expansion RAM cartridge for power users like myself :p

I hope it's still working. I haven't got it yet - it's on its way from Alaska to Australia!
I'll have to find an AU power supply for it, and fiddle around with NTSC/PAL. But it's not everyday you see a boxed VIC, so I couldn't resist. :D

If my math is right, 16 GB is equal to 16777216 KB.
So you can understand why a 16 KB expansion cartridge is such a big deal :D

$US 26. ... + the shipping cost from Alaska to Melbourne, which I'm pretending doesn't count  :p

    I'm on a bit of a spree. I just (like 5 mins ago) bought a Spectrum+.

Looks like it's going to be an expensive weekend.

Wow, seems like you have a new hobby of buying old stuff now. Are you going to build a tech museum or what? :D

If the computer is still working, that will be awesome to try out.

I hate to say it, but I'll probably only use them a few times, then pack them up and put them in storage.

It's lovely to actually use these old machines, but there are enough decent emulators that it's not really worth it unless you've got *nostalgia issues*. I spent most of yesterday trying to find a PC with a floppy drive to make a boot disk for my Atari.

I admire your computer and your hobby as well. There will be no latest computers without the previous ones. Have fun with your new “old version” computer.

If I ever buy a vintage Apple it will be a Lisa, I still think they're the cutest home computer that's ever been made... and/or a Mac SE (I had one as a teenager). It wasn't that long ago that I dumped the SE (2001ish). I'll never shake the guilt until I replace it.

More than you could possibly imagine :D ... first stop: relive my childhood :p
