Why couldn't they just keep Office like it was in 2003, easy to use toolbars and simple context menus. This whole ribbon idea has been killing my productivity with Office software... but I suppose I can't judge 2010 till I try it. Thanks for the link!

I had trouble with the ribbon at first, but now I really like it. Think of it like a new car - once you get used to it, you will never go back to the old one.

the ribbon has its advantages anyway... for old style you have got a way to revert back as well..

I don't understand why there's a need for the new version. I still like the plain ol' simple toolbar with the earlier versions.

THe question is, will this version begin to prompt you to validate with a key when the beta trial expires? I can't see microsoft wanting you to keep this beyond the beta trial

How does MS Office 2010 differ from its earlier version? Are there any fundamental distinctions?

Thanks for the link - I'll be putting it to good use! This rules!

The link does work, it's right through Microsoft - apparently they're running a beta.

I do wonder if they're going to make the beta testers register once it's released.... errr.....
