I just wrote a quick blog post about something crazy I noticed on Google's search results page the other day, included a screenshot at http://www.imanjalali.com/google-related-searches/
Very nice share there. I agree Google SERP has a huge change. From number 1 spot in a particular keyword my website is already in the 3rd spot in SERP's. I guess I still need to work harder for me to get my place back to the top.
Sometimes Google runs tests on random DC's... I had results like that show up for me for roughly 48 hours and it's gone now.
I don't think we'll see anything settle down on Google till after Caffeine launches after the holidays and then they tweak stuff... so I expect stuff all over the place from Google into Q1 2010
My honest opinion is Google needs to slow down a bit, my gosh in the last 3 months they have made so many changes and added so many products. Who can keep up?
Yeah it's been crazy recently, I think the whole dynamic of the SERP will be dramatically different after the full caffeine update
Right, I think Google is under new change recently. I have it also includes something like breadcrumb on the SERP pages.
Hello.. Yea i agree that google is doing alot off changes lately ...might be that Bing is giving them competion laterz malcolm
I agree, google is making too many changes in my opinion. What should be a simple list of results is actually getting more complicated. Maps, postcode searches etc. etc. maybe they should brand a second version for people who actually want those sorts of things.
AFIC Google is doing what makes the most business sense and with the amount of competing technologies now being offered by its competitors, sweeping change is what's needed to stay ahead of the pack. And there is even more than the related search feature. I also wrote a blog post about Google SEO for 2010 and beyond discussing 4 of the most significant changes that everyone will need to be aware of.
I think that the main site and SERP won't change a lot, because it's simplicity is one of their biggest advantage.
