Amount Paid Per Click - Continues to decline.

I've noticed over the last 2 months - the average amount paid per click on several of my sites continues to decline. It's at about 30% of what it was 2 months ago.

Very frustrating.... at first i thought it was just beginning of month to end of month fluctuations, but the beginning of this month was no better than the end of last....

Anyone else noticing similar? I'm getting double the clicks and less money

That could be for many reason. Smart pricing and perhaps a change in advertisers come to mind.

Mine is actually up this month, but after a decline that I think was due to smart pricing. I've seen a few 1 cent clicks and then some couple dollar ones. Yesterday, they actually took money away-- clicks remained the same, but they took a couple of bucks off. I've never seen that - almost like a mistake.... and no, I didn't click on my own ads.

Are you sure that those are $0.01 clicks? The only time I see $0.01 for anything is when I get no clicks; in other words earnings from their new CPM program. The minimum for clicks should be $0.03 I think.

This might be caused by "smart pricing" kicking in for your site. Here's an interesting article about it:

Isnt that the min CPC $0.05 ?

That means you should get at least $0.03 for that.. but i think it may also because of the same ip clicking too many ads for a given time.

Just my 2 cent

I had the same situation once. It returned after a couple of hours and at the end of the month I got some extra that was described as 'other earnings'.

Well, i had one click and it said 0.01 as the amount earned, so im fairly certain it was a 1 cent click..

EDIT: Of course I could be crazy... Who knows.

This month is the best month for me. I no longer see the USD 0.01 clicks on my site. My CTR and EPM icnrease tremendously since google introduce the new smart pricing system. And its keep getting better and better

Mine has dropped a lot

Yes I have noticed a large decrease in click earnings, for 2 months now mine has been dropping, while impressions and ctr has been rising slightly. For instance my credit card site has dropped from an average $1.40 per click to 40 cents or less now, and almost all other clicks on other site now average from 3 cents to 20 cents, definately something has changed for me, and getting worse

Same for me, Arun. Has anyone seen any official release from Google on what the variation in payouts might be caused by?
