Interesting. I don't know anything about it so I can't speak to it's precision but it makes sense to me.

I'm sorry to say, but it is as good as the Ptolemaic worldview to people witnessing the launch of the shuttle.

Google people joke about PR and its unpredictibility. Unless you try to pull a stunt on Flippa or something, focusing on keywords is a safer bet, because in the end what you want are eyes on your offers and conversion, not a synthetic metric some genius in Google can alter every 3 months.

I would advise you to take such "insights" with a grain of salt - while they seem to model certain behavior, they fail to tell you what a PR backlink really is - a link from Digg (PR9) in a non-indexed page vs. front-page link vs. site-wide links. Even the old tune of "nofollow does not bring benefits" has slowly faded in 2009, after it generated such a craze initially. That was a hasty measure that fought link spamming but also penalized legitimate websites. So again, don't invest any large amounts of money on PR! :)

interesting, I've never seen anything like that chart before.
    It may be *partially* accurate?

elladrone's post is spot on, so it's worth repeating. Chasing PR like this is going to shift your focus from ranking well in the search engines, which should be the primary goal.

Any table showing you what you need to gain different levels of PR is bound to be complete guesswork and nothing more. One PR6 with 200 OBLs to spammy sites is completely different to one PR6 with 5 on topic OBLs - there is so much more to analyse than the PR in the toolbar.

i doubt that this works, if it was that simple everyone will just have good PR. But they dont only give PR cos of the backlinks but quality content etc

You should not believe or follow that table in your quest to gain a good page ranking. What you should be doing however, is to focus on producing good quality content that both search engines and visitors would thank you for.

I don't know why most people are almost at break-neck speed to gain Google PR for their site. PRs are worthless unless of course you are into link selling and content hosting. It is also worth pointing out that PR does not translate to a top spot on any SERP.

In fact, 3 of my sites have PR3 -PR6 and I hardly use them for anything. The only thing that I worry about is where my sites appear on major SERP. ##

So, I'd recommend you focus on where you rank for your keywords rather than chasing PR for the sake of it.

    Good luck

As important as Page Rank is, its a real 50/50 here. As has been said already, people should be focused on content and search engine indexing rather than spending so much time to figure out how to achieve a certain PR.

If I were constantly battling to achieve a noteworthy PR, I would have no content, I would have no listings, I would have no back links, and I would probably still have no PR. Which I currently don't have, so that doesn't really make any sense. The only things that I keep an eye on are my Alexa Rank, my search engine indexing, and of course, my analytics. PR comes in due time.

I dont think it's so easy either. I manage to get some backlinks from PR8 website a few days ago. I doubt that few backlinks can push my blogs from PR2 to PR6.

How if there are other 100 links on each of those PR1 page?

    I think this is the formula PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn))
