Hello everyone. I was lead to believe that google had the most powerful search engine but when I did a search for u-a-v MSN bing returned over
1 billion results where as google returned 2.5 million. Yahoo also returned more results than google. Have you had the same experience?

Maybe I'm wrong here, but more results doesn't always mean the best results.

You need to do several tests and also compare the quality of the results to know whether you're getting better service.

Quality is also incredibly subjective and you can argue all night about what makes the best results and never come up with a definitive answer.

I've wondered about that also. More information on this would be much appreciated!

Check your billions of search results to see if there are duplicates, or exact copies, across multiple websites that each counting as a unique hit. Also remember Google has engaged in a very public campaign to reduce from their search results anything they consider a rules violation or a website that holds little value to the end user experience.
Also what is in the collection of billions of search results? Is it only a list of websites, or is it links mixed in with pictures, mixed in with video, etc. You should also try to actually check for the billionth result, because I once tried to do this with Google and found out that even though they say there are millions of results, they only display and allow you search for a limited number of those results. I think it went to 999 or 1000 or something like that. Curious to know what you find out.

Google probably has a comparable number but chooses to sandbox much of the results in supplementary listings.
