Go play... give me feedback here. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1557634 It's an actual real bidding system for sales/auctions in B/S/T...
Well, looks like a great improvement to the current scheme. One thing though, the auto bid maximum won't outbid an automatically placed bid.
It should outbid a different auto-bid (it doesn't go back and forth, it just skips right to who would have won and places that bid). Can you try bidding like $100 above whatever the current bid is? Wait nevermind... Gonna go digging to see why it didn't do it.
Wow that looks so cool, I was trying to enter a bid but it looks like Lifetalk is bidding a bunch... This looks waaaay neat. I love it so far
Nice one shawn. I have placed one my open bid and another one private bid for testing. Looks good to me. Got notification through email as well that 'You Have Been Outbid at Digital Point Forums' DON.
First i have placed one open bid and after that i have placed another bid (private bid) so that time i have got email notification. DON.
Yeah, I accidentally left some in some debugging code I was using to have it email me always. Try to outbid yourself now... it shouldn't email you if you are just outbidding yourself.
I like its interface ..its cool!! can you please give me some choice to modify colors to my bid listing(or you can give some separate color yourself).. I can easily see in the list exactly at what position I am?
No, you can't retract a bid unless the seller allows you to. The seller can cancel any bids they want (see how it looks with the strike-through on the bids I canceled).
Yeap. Thats sounds better. BTW how about if you place something like 'Highest Bidder xxxxx with $xxxxx bid' (with little bit bigger font and bold) just below Place Bid section (left side) ?? DON.
I dunno, seems like too much clutter imo. You can already see who is the high bidder on the page as it is... doesn't seem like we need to repeat it does it?
Well that's how I had it at first, but then I was thinking maybe someone wanted to up their bid (don't ask me why), or they wanted to up the auto-bid portion, so I set it so they can outbid themselves if they *really* want to.
Overall looks good -- liking the private bid option so we don't scare off some of the serious bidders. The auction-holder will see their names in the bid list or something though, right? I like the idea given above -- If a user places a bid, their own name could be a different color so they can quickly identify all of their bids. I'm curious as to how much of the info is required though. I'd consider it a bad idea to force people to post domain names when they know the buyer might be penalized for that (there are legitimate reasons for not wanting the domain name / sale indexed and tracked publicly, even if they simply don't want the sale announced until it's completed). If it's going to be required, there should be some way to protect against that easily.
Hi, I got a few Questions and suggestions. - Too many bids are uneccessarily elongating the page and leading to clutter. How about displaying only the top 5 bids at the top with a link to "View Bid History"? - Will it be there in sites section only or all sections? - When will it be available for everyone?
