    Well maybe geocities japan is hosted by Yahoo Japan and they want it to stay.. do u get any notices there ?? that geocities is closing and so on ?

    I'm sure they'll close the website within a month. They can't just shut down everything at once. The Yahoo! Japan location could be rolling it out within the next month, who knows...

    Nice noticing that. Yahoo Japan is a seperate entity though, it's owned by different shareholders, specifically softbank (ソフトバンク), as well as having different leadership. It is merely an "affiliate" of Yahoo. I'd almost dare compare them to franchises in the way they function.

    That's kinda odd,Yahoo Japan is still owned by Yahoo. I think they should update Geocities to a free blog host like Blogger.
