Well I am making this post on behalf of my friend who wants to buy a new computer under INR 50,000. I have tried telling him to "build" his own PC but he doesn't seem to be listening, so I would like a few suggestions from you people on what Desktop he could buy[branded and pre-built] for his budget.
He would be using his computer for gaming and surfing primarily.

He said he was interested in the two computers shown here: http://www1.ap.dell.com/in/en/home/desktops/ct.aspx?refid=desktops&s=dhs&cs=indhs1&~ck=mn

But as you can see the XPS is a tad bit over his budget and the Inspiron isn't what you would call a "gaming" computer. Anyway would any of you guys here suggest a good branded[Dell,HP etc] PC that he could buy? Or maybe customize the XPS or Inspiron for best performance under his budget?

    Thanks in advance :)

If you need a gaming computer, I can't help but yell "Build yourself with high end specs"
This saves lot of money and we can choose what we need depending on our needs.

Digit is one good monthly magazine that helps you choose the PC that you need with awesome reviews. Get your hands on that. Or look for the online edition.

Why your friend wish to waste 50000?? he can get 2 desktop for it.
If he want to play games in his pc, buy a good graphic card with the pc.

I would recommend go for a assembled PC for just INR 22000, and get a better VGA card for playing 3D games

Go for Assembled and you can get them under 50K. Go for Intel Core 2 Quad with 4 GB RAM with 1 TB HDD, 1 GB Nvidia Graphic Card etc.
