$300 Sketch/Drawing Design

Guys and girls,

Im looking for a design where all you see is a clenched fist holding 2 flags ( A GREEK one and a PORTUGUESE one) in it. So sort of like a hand squeezing 2 flags together and on the bottom of the fist there are drops of blood dripping from the hand.

Feel free to improvise on this idea slightly ... All those interested in this contest please reply so that I can wait for your design.

I have some questions though. Do we show you the final product or first only some hand-sketches?
Do you want the design in vector format or just a .jpeg (size, resolution, printed stuff or web) ? Any favourite style?
And last but most importand, do you provide feedback? Or what we post is final?

That's great ... to answer your questions:

- Do we show you the final product or first only some hand-sketches?
=> Whichever is easier for you, as long as its a good quality design thats good. So something I can see will look more or less like the final product. If you are a "hand drawing artist" even better as it will be something authentic so you could just draw it and scan it in to the compute

-Do you want the design in vector format or just a .jpeg (size, resolution, printed stuff or web) ? - Any favourite style?
=> For now just a jpeg is fine - resolution and size for now is up to you

-And last but most importand, do you provide feedback? Or what we post is final?
=> I always provide feedback - so you can repost a new design if you want ... you can post as many as you like. What Im after is a good origonal design.

I like your designs and my initial feedback would be that I was thinking more along the lines of the hand being a Right Hand holding the flags and that the flags are not on poles ... so that they are hanging off the hand on either side, sort of as though the hand were holding 2 clothes.

Im not happy with the size (im pretty sure that wherever youd use it you need a bigger picture) and the details especially on the right side but I wanted a feedback first

Sorry zyndtel, but I did not "copy" your "concept". I don't know how I could have stolen "your" "concept" since it's what the contest holder asked for... a clenched fist isn't really a "concept" that someone can come up with. I have been on Digital Point contests since Feb 07 and have never copied anyone for anything.
There are only so many ways to draw a clenched fist with flags. For example... I could say your first one looks identical to l3fty's design, except for the flags, which the contest holder said they did not want poles on them... which is where your "concept" comes in. Similar in dimensions as well.

It's impossible anyway... I scanned the sketch on the 15th (Date Created) and since then have spent my time creating the version you see today. I have no need nor ever will to copy others.

 

As for the position of hands like l3fty I just based what the CH said that it's the right position and I just added another one in case he likes it. Well I am just frustrated that it's exactly the same as yours. Even the position of the fingers and blood. And I know that you are not the type of person who copies anything (as I have seen you in other contest) that's why I'm just surprised to see this and can't avoid to complain since I have also experienced it. Well we'll just forget it and continue working on a good design for the CH. I hope this contest will be a smooth one.

Is your contest still going ? I would like to work on a design as well if you are still having the contest.
I have to agree with warpser, there are only so many ways you can draw this or at least the basic idea or concept , which was already presented by the CH. So the designer can only try different angles and positions for the fist and the flag.

Zyndtel, your first sketch is what I was thinking of in terms of the flags and how they are held.

As for the fist, I am more after a Right hand fist and it should be in the position more or less as per Immah's sketch.

Immah, your sketch is very very good, but if the fist could be turned about 60 - 90 degrees to the left so that the part of the fist that is shown is a bit more the knuckles. mainly so that I can write a word on each clenched finger if you know what I mean.

The way Immah has the flags draped and converting into blood is the idea Im after so if any want to resubmit a design or submit a new design then please use Immah's sketch as a basic idea.

How about this position of hands?

Immah is more or less on the right track in terms of what I want.
