I only included a comma and a fully stop. It made the sentance grammatically correct.

I took the comma and fullstop out and resubmitted. But thanks anyway.

To the person who gave me neg rep: I don't want to post what I consider sensitive data in a public forum.

I would bet it was for using 5 word anchors. But I guess if it gets through review, it's allowed?

Sure but the reason they gave confused me "no special characters in anchor text"

Special characters? What a fullstop and a comma?

I've never seen an anchor with punctuation. IIRC the DMOZ and Google guidelines specifically say not to do it?

Anchor text should be short and to the point whether its the ad network or on someones site.

Adding lots of filler words just dilutes its weight from an SE standpoint and makes users less likely to click from an advertising standpoint

I totally disagree. From the advertising standpoint a more descriptive ad is going to get more clicks than a one word one. In my opinion.

That a full sentence as Anchor Text should be accepted in the Coop?

No, that a ad shouldn't be denied for using a full stop and a comma. (When used properly)

And that shorter ads are better for advertising.

That was what you posted

I guess it may be better to just let this thread die and let the approval process handle these types of things like it is doing now.

    You've lost me totally.

I think you're confusing the fact that it's a sentance.

The reason they gave was because of "special characters"...nothing to do with the number of words.

I was asking why a comma and a fullstop are classed as 'special characters'....nothing else...
