Google now saying use HTML sitemaps first if you have a choice

Yes HTML site map is the Google first choice i also read in news of information week of this video.

Earlier Google used to give preference to xml sitemap ...so at last it has given equal importance to html sitemap.

Thats a good thing I guess, since we can use the same page for users as well.

taht's really nice. some people do not know how to build a xml sitemap but now they will create it easily

Matt says its better to do an HTML sitemap first because it serves users as well as search engines. This isn't a new policy, and doesn't in any way imply that you shouldn't do an XML sitemap. He also says right at the beginning of the video that both kinds of sitemaps are helpful in getting your site crawled.

i use XML sitemap in my blog, should i check the plugin if it can generate HTML sitemap ?
