How Secured Delevered Adsese Cheque Comes

I woke up kind of late today and on my porch this was laying....

I was a little concerned about the rip but it (the check) was fully intact.

    Some interesting facts:

    1) I did not have to sign for it.

    2) I do not have a waiver on file for dhl to leave unsigned packages which require it.

    3) My house currently has a for sale sign in the front yard. (ups and fedex cant leave any package at a house that has a "for sale" sign (or so they tell me))

Here is what mine looked like. Hope this answers others questions about what to look for or tell others to look for.

If I were you, I'd complain to them about it. But that's just me...

The carrier can basically do whatever they want. The driver has discretion to leave a package without a signature. They are liable for any loss, but since this is a check, the bank who cashed it would be out the money if it was stolen. That's why you need ID and usually an account to cash a check.

I once had a $20,000 package of jewelry left on my front porch for 2 days and it was marked that an adult signature was required. The drivers have no idea of the insured value of a package (to keep from tempting them). I called to complain and they said since we (they) are liable if we leave it without a signature, it's our call. I even have drivers who sign my name and leave the package at the front door. I think they are on a deadline and don't want to have to come back. I've had a few lost packages, but never one that was taken once it was delivered.

From DHL's standpoint, their is no financial risk for them in leaving a check without a signature. It can be a pain for you if it gets stolen and a replacement needs to be issued. You can call and make a complaint, but I'm not sure it will do any good.

Hi Shoemoney. Did you have to pay the $30 for the secured delivery?

What's the cut off amount for them to send an electronic funds transfer? I read an earlier post that you made that said that you made too much for EFT.

Its kind of funny.... before EFT they would not send checks for more then 25k. They would only wire/ach.

Now they will not let you EFT if its more then 25k. So your only option is to accept this free secure delivery...... (30$ value big fricking woop)

    kind of lame imo.

Hmmmm...Well, IMO, that's pretty lame. I can't think of any legit reason to put a cap on EFT/ACH.

Thanks for clearing that up Shoemoney. $25k is the current cap for EFT. It should be a month or two before I have to worry about that. Thanks again.

My last Adsense check came in an unmarked envelope which hadn't even been sealed.
