Is it still worth the time to enter plenty of keyword variations in the meta tag for keywords for SEO? I know it does help people find items in internal search engines.
For Google, no. For other major search engines, it CAN help but meta keywords are usually still used by small search engines. If you're only optimising for Google, I would advise not to put meta keywords.
Hmmm.. I heard that it now only works to Yahoo So I therefore conclude that it's next to useless when it comes to SEO.
yeah, still the meta tags are valuable to pass information to search engines. But, use limited words. I think, even if we optimize only for Google it is good to use meta tags using targeted keywords in the meta tags. Even if we not write the meta, Google takes from the content. But, the priority gives only to description. I suggest to use meta for any of the search engines.
you should use meta tag from contents related & follow seo rule such as description meta tag, keyword meta tag have fix character for some search engine.
The simple answer is yes, why not; every little bit helps when it comes to improving the likelihood of positioning your website into the top search results. If you break down the importance of each of the Meta description tags, different search engines will put more weight into some of them then others. Google for example ignores most of these Meta description and Meta keyword tags, and puts more focus on the keywords that are used in the actual content of a webpage. Some search engines, that still use keyword description tags in their search engine crawls, will often verify whether or not the keywords used in the keyword description are in fact mentioned throughout the webpage.
Some Search Engines Still Give Weight To Meta Tags - Search Engines such as Yahoo and MSN still use meta tags as part of the determining factors for ranking a site. Although the amount of importance may be small, when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO) every little bit helps. Using meta tags will not guarantee search engine placement but when combined with a complete search engine optimization campaign can help. And again when it comes to optimizing your site for the search engines every little bit counts. Warm regards!
the meta description is still being used, but google doesn't care about meta keywords. Matt Cutts even stated it in this video
Biggest search engines don't use the keywords tag. And the others don't have enough traffic to deserve the time to optimize especially for them.
