Amazon RSS in Wordpress
Requirements * ionCube –Needed to execute “protected code” in our plugin. * Wordpress — Free blogging platform. Background information Amazon RSS in Wordpress The Amazon RSS in Wordpress plugin was created with Amazon affiliates in mind. In a nutshell, this plugin will display relevant, category-based, clickable images from Amazon in your Wordpress blog. When your blog readers click on these images, they will be taken to Amazon in order to learn more about the advertised product. And, if they are so inclined, a purchase will be made and affiliate credit will be rewarded. How does it work? Because Amazon has made their RSS feeds available to their associates for the purpose of earning additional income, this plugin was designed to capitalize on Amazon's RSS generosity. The plugin captures the images in specified Amazon RSS feeds — RSS feeds that you choose based on their relevancy with your blog's content — and automatically adds your associate-id tag to the URL of the product's page on Amazon. Images are cached on your local server in order to increase page rendering speed and general server responsiveness, and the images are updated automatically. Included Amazon Programs At the present time, affiliates from the following markets are eligible to earn from this plugin: Amazon.com (United States), Amazon.ca (Canada), Amazon.co.uk (United Kingdom), Amazon.de (Germany), Amazon.fr (France), and Amazon.co.jp (Japan). Recommended Practice In order to track how much money this plugin is making for you, it is recommended that a unique associate-id be created for each Amazon market that reflects a relationship with this plugin. Is this plugin free? Yes. You are not required to pay for this plugin in order to use it. Donations are accepted, but are not required. The way that this plugin is supported is through the concept of “affiliate traffic sharing.” Affiliate traffic sharing means that one image from the total number of images will be embedded with the Shop Network's associate-id tag. In other words, depending on the Amazon RSS image clicked on your website, the developer of this plugin has a chance to earn affiliate credit. This concept is explained in further detail elsewhere on this forum.

I've been browsed around your site, but can't found a demo. Could you give one or two example?

Hi there.
It might be a good thing that you couldn't find a "demo" -- the Amazon images don't appear spammy, and they blend in well with what's happening on the page. However, it is possible to manipulate some CSS and make the images flashy or change them to better fit the template in use. But I guarantee you, it is working, and the images are there. Ok, let's take my most recent post as an example :: The BEST Amazon Plugin for Wordpress. Scroll down, and you'll see the "Article By" box (which is of course me). Underneath that, you'll see a 468x60 "Sponsored Links" from Adsense. Underneath the "Sponsored Links" box, you'll see the "Amazon RSS in Wordpress" box with 5 images. I've put a link to a screenshot on my flickr account that has a red arrow pointing at what this plugin does. The Amazon RSS in WP plugin is pulling in those five images. Read what I've written in the support forum to find out s'more details and particulars. Hover over those images, and do a properties on the images. See how they have an embedded affiliate link already? The plugin is doing that too. Experiment with it.

where's the link to the working example, i didn't see it in your above post. Working examples are always much better then screenshots, as you can see it in action, measure the load time etc.
thnx, PuReWebDev

Ugh, IonCube. Will this continue to be a free tool? I like the example used, but it never seemed to change, I think a little more information on what the plugin/tool does would be beneficial.

My best recommendation at this point in time is to create a "test server" on a subdomain or something of the sort, and install the plugin in this manner. If there are issues (which I hope not!), then deleting the subdomain is an option. I'll be working on some Youtube videos, per another user's recommendation. I'll just have to get over my video shyness first !!!

I won't charge for its usage because affiliate traffic sharing is built into the plugin. I understand that some might be apprehensive about the concept of affiliate traffic sharing, but, I believe that it achieves a balance between my interest to maintain and sustain the plugin and the blog author's personal interest to use it in the first place.

However, in my opinion, I would think you would attract the larger affiliates with a paid version that gets rid of such a 'tool'. Big turn off.

Please explain how taking a percentage of sales/commission does not make it cost something?
