Optimization does Google not like the word?

Optimization now there is a word. But why does it seem Google does not like it?

I built a site three months ago on the subject of optimization. Not optimisation but optimization. The domain name contained the word optimization so did the site. It never got into Google. I did the same as I normally do but hey it never worked. I figured maybe the domain was black listed or some thing before I got it. So after all this time I bought another domain. Took me a while but I fond a hand reg that will fit the task I want it for. I have only had it working for a week but once again no love from Google. Do they not like the word optimization?

A week is a short time but I can normally get a site indexed in a couple of days. So this seems strange.

In my honest opinion if Google had a grudge against the term "optimization", it wouldn't have any web sites in its index, which have that term as one of its keywords. I see an index of 61,000,000 pages returned, so I would say the word "optimization" did not prohibit your site from being indexed.

Can you check you robot.txt, you might be blocking the site for indexing. Check your template as well.

Tara obviously there are sites indexed for the word thats not my point. My point is do they take longer to index some words than others? In this case and my evidence I would say yes.

@ Just kidding. Everything should be fine. I have not done any different steps than normal. I have even tried the second site on a WordPress install.

JamesB, you did not ask if they "take longer" to index sites with the word "optimization". You asked, "Do they not like the word optimization?" That is the question I answered. I also assumed that since you decided to use another domain name after three months, you thought that Google was never going to index the site.

As for the question you are really asking, now that I understand. I once built a site for a local real estate agent. Terms relating to real estate are some of the most competitive on Google, if not the most competitive. The site I built was indexed within a couple of days.

Since the term "optimization" is a regular word, used not only for the purposes of "search engine optimization", a practice we've all heard that Google does not condone or promote (and some would argue they try to make it impossible), I would have to say that Google does not discriminate against a web site for using such a general term...if they even do that at all for any term.

My answer is still, "no". Best of luck.

Maybe sites with such huge amounts of competition are put lower on the list to be indexed. It would make sense.

Tara "optimization" of any business of line or on line is important so Google should not hold the middle ground on whether or not they agree or disagree with it. I’m sure they did plenty of optimization and still do to make their search engine and other products the best.

I still think that there must be some sort of buffer in place to make site with content like this harder to get indexed. It will be interesting to see if any of the two sites are indexed.

@ farangkwaiyai do you have any experience or you just assuming? I’m starting to assume now but with only two sites to go on feel it’s a little too early to draw a conclusion.

Be great to here from others who have sites with the words optimization or even SEO in the domain name.

    Thanks

    Hi James,

I've had a few websites that are for high competition search terms and they definitely get sand boxed for longer. Or at least the main search term and index page does.

As for high competitive keyword sites being indexed slower, that is just a guess/assumption as it would make sense to prioritise the sites that are filling gaps. Then again if google have plenty of resources they may just process everything as it gets added.

I have no evidence to support my claim but it does make sense in a way, so its just as important to make the site simple, get it indexed, and then optimise it for the competitive search term.
