The following blog post says that SEO sites don't get as much PageRank as they should and that the SEOmoz, SEO Book, We Build Pages and BigMouthMedia websites deserve higher PR scores: http://www.seoco.co.uk/blog/2009/07/31/seo-websites-pagerank-scores/ What do you think, is Google giving the top SEO sites a raw deal on PageRank?
I don't think so, maybe the SEO sites just thought them knowing too much on SEO and google prove them wrong.
While i tend to agree that these sites deserve more PR (especially Bigmouthmedia) i tend to think its just the way google has recalculated the algo and hence why they dropped down 1-2 notches from there original PRs. While im not a big fan of PR we are all aware its part of the algo and everyone always want more so as to "LOOK" better then others in our perspective fields but in the end its traffic that really matters for "Sales" so i dont think any of these guys really care about it, providing they aren't penalized becuase of it. PS.. good to see you posting again Dave E thx M1
Google doesn't like seo sites. The sole purpose of seo sites is to make money by manipulating the serps so you can't really blame google.
No site deserves PageRank. Google doesn't exist to give a pat on the back and a hug to webmasters. It exists to serve up results to searchers.
No, they cant. The PR system is depend on the backlink, they can only do that if they change the PR system
google give pr to popular site and which site have more linking with other site and quality inbound links
Well, I don't think so. If the pages have good backlinks and quality content, they should get PR which they deserve.
LOL interesting point of view but sounds not solid dude G do things not emotionally but logically based on theri algo
well said, except of making big decisions like awarding top PR like PR10, PR9 I don't think Google really cares about the SEO sites' PR.
well i do suspect that google (can or sometimes does) manually assigns page rank etc and such to certain sites that come to its attention. from what that article says about the number of backlinks i would think that the first two especially should have a higher page rank of 7 at least in comparison to certain blogs that i visit and have looked into. maybe it's like gazu said, google doesn't like such seo sites, so they factor that in, i really don't know - or maybe pr 7 really is that difficult to attain. unless one knows for sure that google has manually intervened or there are some other circumstances we don't yet know about, we can assume it's a matter of the algo....
Of course, in my opinion.. I am a believer of SEOers should get a higher PR. Trust me when I say this..i'm definitely no seo, however they know the ins and outs of PRing and have definitely spent some time and money learning how to SEO like everyone else can do. The way I see it is, they should get higher PR like everyone else and that will give us lower ended PRers a goal to strive for. Learn SEO or any method for high PR and beat them off the list! hehe Good Luck
Its a fair comment to make, I have pondered over this for quite some times. My personal seo site, was once a pr 4, gradually fell to a 2! (nothing black hat ever!) I personally believe that small SEO sites do not deserve much credit, at the end of the day, seo's are working against Google and its objectives so why should it give them credit? I do believe larger sites should have higher pr's such as SEOmoz etc, as they are regarded as the heartbeat of the community.
IMHO... Not at all, if they really deserve to have a higher PR based on their backlinks profile then they will simply do
What they think they deserve does not necessarily mean is what they really deserve as per google's algo. Anyway, I really don't think this is worth fussing about. If people are visiting and are satisfied with what they find, that's pretty much enough for a self-respecting site.
MC made a comment about there being less PR around in SEO site circles back when the linkbuying / selling fake PR penalties were first applied. I think possibly some of those big sites have a -1 or -2 applied. but ultimately, who cares? ..look how they rank, do we think theyre bothered? (good blog post btw Dave E)
