GoText is a PPC program by a company that owns a network of health related sites. Portals, forums, news etc. I signed up to give it a shot, had a couple hundred impressions on both my test ads but no clicks. Minimum CPC was $0.30 and in some categories even half a dollar so I was actually expecting my $50 to be gone in 24 hours. But not a click yet. Any of you using GoText? Any feedback on ROI?
Only got one click out of 1400 impressions. Bumped up the bids. Now have 4 clicks, 1 sale. Not a bad start!
I have signed up for them T0PS but they are a bit light on the categories. I am emailing abck and forth about it because I would have to just go with General Health which isn't what I want to do. I will give a better evaluation once I get stuck in
I'm running 2 ads. The categories suited me alright though they seem to focus on what pays them most instead of covering all areas. I'm tracking every move from those ads. One received 20 visitors (20 clicks reported) - no sales. Other received 12 visitors (12 clicks reported) - 1 sale. One visitor is based on a 14 day period. Cost: $23.39 (CPC went up a lot because I wanted to test impact of high ad positions). With this one sale I'm probably breaking even. Tiny profit even. This far all of the IP's have been from UK so they target the ads well in that regard.
They do answer emails which is a good sign (vs most PPC places) I suspect one of their reps might be posting in this thread. As far as my interaction they are looking at both my products and my categories to create a fit. So far so good.
This thread is ridiculous http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum85/895.htm Just goes to show how closed minded people are. I can't believe at WMW they judge the qulity of a PPC program by its Alexa rating ?!?!? Anyway, I should have an answer about adding new categories on Monday. I think that will help you T0PS too. At that point I will fund my account. Cheers
I've depleted my $50 account now and got 1 sale and 71 clicks ($0.70 avg CPC 89K impressions). Not very eager to increase my balance again. Might do at some point since most things deserve a second chance with a new new approach from my behalf. You any luck?
I never got to the funding part. They keep saying they will be updating soon to add new categories. This is where it lacks in my opinion and I think I will have the same results as you if I just go with the General Category. As it stands AdWords is more focused because it delivers the results based on a search and is controlled by keywords. If GoText allowed more categories they could be better for the Health Industry but by making people waste money by advertising on what I consider non related sites doesn't make sense. I am still watching them though as the idea is fundamentally a good one. THey just need to execute correctly to get my money.
But if you limit the campaign to UK only it will only show the ads to UK visitors on that particular AdSense enabled page though won't it? Even when the page is in the US/elsewhere?!
Like I said I don't do Content but I believe it goes by the Visitors IP. I run my ads throughout Europe and beyond but I divide them. This way I can have a very specific ad in that countries currency and vernacular. Running a "worldwide campaign" is many peoples biggest mistake in my opinion because one Ad does NOT fit all
We do UK only so that's not something of our concern. By the way I meant to ask you... We have sound conditioners that make train sounds. Do you have any CDs that play aircraft sound like from within an airliner? I always fall asleep within minutes and don't even notice take off and touch down but can;t sleep well at home. You know of any Airbus 300 or similar whitenoise CD's/mp3's/generators?
Higher Click Through - Yes Higher ROI - Not so sure THis is targeted advertising and is meant to supplement AdWords, not replace it. Any more experience with them T0PS?
No, I haven't replenished my account but I probably will at some point. Just not a priority. Like I said, one sale out of $50 worth of clicks.
