I'll start by describing what I'm trying to achieve. I'm currently setting up a WordPress portfolio type site to feature tshirts. I want to set it up so that each post is a profile of an individual tshirt (so it'd include basic stuff like an image and description). On these posts I want to include three ordering options (eg. you could order the t-shirt in Small, Medium or Large). Pricing will be standardised across the range of shirts so small shirts will all be $XX, medium $XX etc. I want users of the site to be able to select one of the options and have that added to a 'shopping cart'. Once they've finished they should be able to click on the cart and then 'checkout' which would submit the info to PayPal for them to complete payment and there order. Then the customer and I, would get an email summarizing the order. So basically the post title will be the product title. When a user clicks the small, medium etc button the product title would be added to the size and price information and added to the shopping cart. So my question, after all that, what would be the best/simplest way for me to do this? I've looking at a couple of plugins, but the ones that I've seen seem a little more complex than what I'd really need. Is this something I'd be better off creating from scratch? If so, any ideas/tips? Thanks
Why do you want to do this with wordpress just use a shopping cart software like http://www.magentocommerce.com/
I would still suggest looking at some plugin (from here, I guess) which may suit you, since shopping cart integration (especially as complex as Magento) will be much more complex.
There are many carts worth looking at which you may use to build a store from scratch. You may perform a comparison according to your key requirements and pick the one you like the most. As an idea, I'd appreciate if you could check CS-Cart as well, we do support product options as well. And, please, keep us informed on what you finally choose
