According to this article: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/microsofts-new-search-engine-outpaces-rivals Bing grew at the rate of 25% per week during June. Even so, it only captured 5.25% of the search market. So, while doing well, Bing has a long way to go to catch even Y!. /*tom*/
bing is fast easy and attractive. yahoo is slower on my computer, not sure about the easy as it is a bit clutters and i really think bings idea of a great scene on the background makes it so much more attractive than looking at news articles on the front page. so far great success for me and definatly use bing once in a while. I think it should reach 2nd, its just when?
It'll be hard though, taking goodle's customers. I can see it taking over yahoo, but it's got to be god-worthy to come close to google.
This growth of Bing is at the expense of MSN and Live search. It will be a few months (once the transition to Bing is complete) before we can analyze its marketshare in relation to Google and Yahoo.
Overall, Bing gained 1% of the search market so far at the cost of $100 million dollars in advertising. To catch up to Yahoo, at that rate, would cost about $500 million dollars more. Once accomplished, they would need to spend another $3 Billion dollars to tie Google. Now that's assuming advertising alone would accomplish that and Microsoft wouldn't go out of business due to no cash left in the bank.
In search engine traffic terms, that's a huge increase numerically. That's millions or billions of occurances. I mainly use Google, but sometimes bing for the heck of it. Bing has a more atractive page layout than Google. Bing's has a designed look to it.
Thing is, Search engines are getting overcrowded all the time, the same can be said for Google so that's why people are moving towards bing
I think Bing might shoot up a head in a few months time, but for the time being it's trailing like a snail :/
I dont think a long way would be the proper term, Bing is trying very hard to capture the market let's see where it takes it.
It has been reported that Microsoft will spend $100 Million Dollars in marketing Bing. But still, Google is number 1.
Bings out break is just a temporary news that will stay at least for some months. Sooner or later there will be no more story to tell
What's all the hype about Bing. I've not used it and will never use it merely because of its horrible stretched logo. It's just so irritating!
Ok you webmasters out there, tell me from which search engines you get most traffic, i really doubt there is webmaster that gets more traffic from any other search engine than google. I receive 5 times more traffic from google than from my second search engine yahoo or bing or search.
