    This is MY website...
    http://weightloss2.com/weightlossnaturally.html

    This is HIS website...
    http://topweightlossguidesreviews.info/weightlossnaturally.html

    Notice any similarity??!!!

In fact he has even left my domain name in his title!

If you click on the fatloss4idiots links and go to checkout, the affiliate is drax2006, member drax2006 here has websites in his signature which have the same whois information as http://topweightlossguidesreviews.info

He has loads of websites, and some of those are stolen too! Yes, I have reported him to hostgator, clickbank, his ISP and ezinearticles (he has articles linking to his site) and I have filed DMCA notices. I'm warning everyone here to check their hard work hasn't also been stolen.

drax2006/Mr Simpson/cobra2usb, by the time I'm finished you WILL be sorry you messed with the wrong person.

I wrote the articles myself to ensure that I had unique content. Furious isn't the word!

Wow Janie, that is pretty bad.
I've had some articles swiped but not an entire site, graphics and all.
It will be interesting to see what happens as the result of you reporting to the various places. I don't think there is really anything that can be done. I've reported people to Hostgator several times with no results. Clickbank won't care because they get their money for every sale. Have you tried reporting to the owners of the affiliate product?

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

As long as the site brings business, your complaint will not be taken into consideration.

I don't think there is anything wrong in copying what you've done. But he has stolen it. I suppose you ought to complain and get his site outta there.

    Good luck

We've also had web sites copied (e.g. green energy) and you cannot really patent the content. You might be able to patent the design according to some Intellectual Property lawyers.

Bottom line is, be flattered, file DMCA notices (C&D), and report them.

Unless the site is already finely SEO tuned, they won't have the traffic and they won't have the PPC expertise to make it profitable. So eventually it will die off and they pull the plug.

But I understand, I was sick to my gut when I saw my site copied VERBATIM except for the Clickbank ID...

Also, when using ready made review sites templates, expect massive copycat worldwide...

    Harsh.

I've had everything from landers to actual products/sites stolen, repackages etc. from both a vendors point and an aff's.

Good for you for being a person of principle. You'd be surprised what being persistent will do for you. I've taken sites down, had aff's booted from CB, had content/articles/accounts handed over to me, and in a few rare instances even had the scammers return all the money they made from their stolen sites (even documented one at the NicheChoppers forum).

I applaud your attempt at exposing this person just don't let it absorb you or get emotional, it's business. As well as notifying all third parties, you should also go after the threat from the core - send HIM a nice legal doc or two, who cares where he resides, a stamped pdf scan of legal documentation with government names (his real name) and info posted on it WILL get his attention. Find their facebook, myspace, anything personal you can about them, get their photo's, get their address and google map his neighbourhood, be creative from there... There's more than one way to...

    Best of luck with this,
    N.

Actually, this brings up a very good question. And that is, what can we do to prevent this from happening?

Could this be prevented from changing the permissions on your file/folders?
For example, put the permissions to your /images folder to 400 (or read only).?

Are there any guidelines on how to protect your site? Oh heck. I see another ClickBank product coming on real soon:)

It's hard to really protect it. It's just part of the game, don't worry too much about it. If somebody is copying you, it means you did a good job.

Clickbank will deal with it, I'm sure. I had someone copy my landing page before. I reported it to Clickbank, and while he wasn't banned, they got him to remove the content. I guess they give you a warning first, and if you don't comply, it's a ban? Maybe in some cases it's a straightout ban..

Forgot to mention, someone from Clickbank emailed me back within 3 days, and the content was removed a day after. :)

Maybe it was because I submitted my complaint through the Clickbank contact form over 10 times. I was angry. ;)

It is a pity to hear that yours were copied by this guy.

There are a lot of cb products which copy others. We hope that cb will take more actions to deal with these products and ban the guys who copy others. Their wrong doing has affected our benefits.

Wow - i had no idea i was so famous! I actually missed this thread and as i explained to Clickbank it was the result of a bad experience I had getting a third party to produce a site for me - never agin i can tell you - looks like CB didnt forward on my e-mails to Jane. I was actually out of the country on vacation when it all blew up but I removed the front page immediately as I was literally going out the door. On my return I removed the rest of the pages and I am now working on a new version of the site.

In my defence it was a generic template, I quickly proof read it and it seemed ok - I guess you learn to check. anyhow Im coming to me own defence here as I am not a low-life scammer as has been suggested but someone trying to make a few dollars to survive in the shark infested waters of IM.

BTW - as far as i know my referral account may have been blacklisted but CB didnt ban my account so they were obviously satisfied with my actions.

I would have been mad as hell if that had happened to me as well guys - safe to say I will never trust a 3rd party developer as long as i live

apologies to all concerned .. now its time to get back on with making money

You told Luke at Clickbank you bought 'the template' from a guy here. We both checked your itrader (as you would have had itrader if you had conducted a transaction here). Seems you didn't.

And surely, if you were buying 'the template' from someone here, surely someone else would have bought it too. Seems no one else did.

Further, it is YOUR ip in my logs viewing my source code.

    Jane,

My Ip does not imply it was me at the machine. The developer was working for me in my office unattended. He informed me that he had bought it from a guy here on DP - i agree with you - it appears he was lying to me. I can only apologise again, and say that i was negligent in checking up on him - he even used the company credit card to pay for it so..god knows who he paid, and for what! Needless to say I wont use him, or recommend his services to anyone again. I hope this clears things up - I am feeling as bad about this as you, and I can only hope that my actions of removing the site immediately can reassure you that I am not a scammer or thief.

Anyway, in the words of Forrest Gump - thats all I have to say about that!

I did my homework thank you. I did not jump the gun.

Drax will do anything, legal or otherwise to cheat the system. Traffic to EPN accounts, adsense spammy autoblogs that get banned in 5 minutes, 15 twitter accounts spamming his links. Suggesting that people 'click each others adsense ads' http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...toblog-lets-make-team-traffic.html#post690570

He does not have 'a developer working at his machine' that is lying to him. He doesn't even have a job! His 'office' is his computer at home.... and I know this because I telephoned his house on the 8th July and spoke to I pressume, his wife (since he is 42, though it could have been his mother).
