What is better for SEO, preferred domain (www or non-www) ?
    I can't understand if it's any advantage http://www.yoursite.com over http://yoursite.com
    What is better to use?
Hope you'll explain me that. Thanks.

Using both might confuse algorithms like Pagerank and your statistics programs (web log analysis apps). I normally just set my domain without "www" to redirect to the one with "www."

Focus on one, in google webmaster tools you can select your preferred.

    I keep the www's

Lock into one as Red-Spiral has already mentioned. I dont see any difference between the two. Whatever you do just make sure you set the preference into one in webmaster tools.
I see that using www will be more advantageous. The reason is that when linking mot people tend to go by www.yoursite.com and such instead of http://yoursite.com. As fr as SERP's are concerned it does not matter, but if you are looking for usability and simplicity go for the www version

I do the without the www. If you do choose to use one over the other, set up htaccess to redirect to the one you;re going to use. That way there isn't any issues with the search engine spiders and linking.

As the above poster days i also have http://xyz.com for my site and www redirects to non-www. My reason for that is as WWW is only a folder & its not compulsory so why have 2 of them. The search engine might take it for 2 sites if i have both with-www and non-www, i am not sure.

Though i think it did not help me anything directly in SEO. But i guess for a single page site PR3 is fine :)

There is not enough difference between them, maybe I am wrong. Both are use for accessing the url pages on the internet. But I use www.
    Thanks

it doesn't matter as long as you don't use both, I personally don't use www beacuse I feel that people are too lazy nowadays to put the www =p

I believe that's completely opposite and may be based off of your own pattern of typing?

I've been in the computer industry for an good 15 years and still to this day most of my coworkers will type in an url exactly as follows http://www.digitalpoint.com, when asked why they say because that's how they grew up doing or some school taught them :p

I am and will always be an non www to www re-director.

SEO wise? I haven't an clue and would better better off hitting up Mike Grey or other top SEO names on that subject.

i use www. and it seems most websites use it as well.
Its just the proper term and through my experience www. seems to get picked up on search engines a lot more than just yoursite.com.

Focus to only one format :D Big G sees the two domain differently. So I suggest that every time you'll build links, just set it to one domain. In all of my sites, I always include www and it works.
